Is there a repetitive cycle to history? Is there a Devine Plan? Is History an unexplainable, random set of occurrences or is there a beginning, middle and end? In Roadmap to the End of Days, Daniel Friedmann uses the concept of eschatology to look at history and align it with the Abrahamic traditions. He also intertwines concepts from the Talmud and Kabballah writings in order to align the biblical history with human history and cosmology. If these patterns exist can we determine any significance or insight into a Devine Plan?

How does Free Will affect a Devine Plan? Based on the concepts presented relating to free will, I found the idea intriguing that we have the ability to impact a Devine Plan. We might or might not be able to change a Devine Plan but we can certainly speed up or slow down parts of the plan within the limits of human behavior.

I have always wondered how you could corollate the scientific cosmological timeline with the biblical timeline and that of human recorded history. Daniel provides an insight to this concept with unique graphs and charts that are then used to help further align all three of these topics.

Eschatology is an interest of mine. I was interested to see how Daniel aligned numbers together with human history and Abrahamic religious writings to establish a ‘window’ into the Devine Plan. Numbers like 6, 7, 36 and 167 are all part of the premise Daniel uses to show a possible alignment and view of cosmology, human history and biblical stories.

A lot of the charts and graphs used give a very valuable insight to the overall premise of the book. Additionally, I found myself, after an initial read, of going back and digging into the charts and then pulling other resource material the author used (and some he didn’t) to better understand his point of view. I found many of the concepts and ideas presented that I agreed with.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the relationship between cosmology, human history and the Abrahamic beliefs. I would give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. Not only was the read quick, it constantly presented concepts that will whet your appetite for more. When the book ended I was still looking for the next chapter. The book was well formatted and I did not find any typos so common today.
