Do you ever get invited to a party and ask yourself what to do? You start wondering when to respond or what to bring. You can also wonder if you can bring your dog or what to do when you arrive at the event. Other times you want to host an event yourself, and you find yourself lost. You have questions about what to prepare for your guests and when to send invitations. You also wonder how to entertain your guests and make sure they have a great time. You want to make sure they come back to your other events. The Art of Entertaining by Maggie Fleming gives you many of the answers you may need in a short, delightful book that makes sure to go straight to the point and give you the details you might need.

First of all, the visual experience of the book is amazing. The yellow theme of the book and the colorful pages give you a sense of joy while going through its pages. I even liked the font used and the spacing on the pages that didn't feel crowded. I believe the editing of the book was exceptional in all terms. I didn't notice any errors or mistakes.

I didn't find anything to dislike about the book. It delivers what it promises and gives you the needed tips and tricks to host or attend a party. It gives proper diversity and offers different examples of events like wedding parties, holiday parties and home parties. The book isn't overly detailed and doesn't resemble a whole textbook or a reference to plan a huge event. It has the basic tips for normal people. It suits people with no or little event experience.

I enjoyed reading the book and found it useful. I liked how I could see the differences between societies regarding habits. The book represents one society, and if you come from a different background, you'll start comparing and noticing the differences. This was clear to me when I found parts dedicated to bringing your dog manners and how significant this can be compared to other societies.

Because of all that I mentioned above, I rate The Art of Entertaining by Maggie Fleming five out of five stars.
