An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, ChatGPT, and Machine Learning

Have you ever wondered how Alexa turns on the light? Read this book and you will discover the answer to that question.
The author's relaxed writing style keeps the book fresh and light with quirky analogies. Slipping in a wisecrack here and there reveals the author's fun side. He describes his book as a "symphony of stories and analogies." The author writes with an upbeat tone, which I found relatable and easy to follow. It is not like reading a textbook with numerous confusing terminologies or technical computations, in other words, geeksplaining. Speaking of terminology, the author had the foresight to include a glossary of 50 key terms with their definitions at the back of the book. I found this very helpful.
The author writes that artificial intelligence (AI) serves one primary purpose: "to augment, enrich, and elevate the human experience." I was happy to read that the AI community is well aware of the need for ethics to prevent bias from becoming part of the data that computers learn from.
I like two things about this book. One is the informal way the information is presented. I found it an easy-to-follow lesson on AI. Second, the book's division into manageable sections made it easy to absorb. The fun energy of the book kept me reading to the end. The examples used by the author to clarify his points are on a level everyone will understand.
I enjoyed reading this book and don't feel the author needs any suggestions to improve the book, as the book is exceptionally well written. The book is exceptionally well-edited, the information is clear, and the humor keeps the tone light, which encouraged me to continue reading. What else could you want from a book?
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I initially worried whether I'd be able to understand the information in this book, but that worry was put to rest as soon as I started reading. The author did well at keeping the phrasings in the book at a layman's level. Thus, the reason for the 5-star rating.
I recommend this book to everyone interested in understanding AI or simply curious to discover how Alexa knows you need milk. You will come away with a clear understanding of how she works.
This book is free of profanity or sexual content.
