The Small Stock Trader by Mika is full of tips not only for trading but also for life. In the book, the author provides the formula that has worked for him in the trading business and how psychology and inner peace have been helpful for achieving success.

The first part of the book focuses on trading tips and what you can do as a beginner to make it into the business. I think it is great that the author provides realistic expectations and doesn’t try to sell you a ‘’magic formula,’’ as we often see in these types of books. The author also explains how you need a deep understanding of the stocks you are buying and that you should not just randomly decide what is going to be your focus. The author also provides several parallels between trading and poker that can be helpful, such as the harmony between risk and reward and how to approach it.

The second part of the book focuses on psychology and how having a good state of mind can be beneficial not only for the stock trading business but also for your life. The author provides tips and explains why he thinks a balanced life is important. Again, the author provides realistic expectations and advises that while things don’t always work even if we put our whole focus on them, we can do our best, and I think this also goes with the risk and reward philosophy.

I’m giving the book 5 out of 5 stars. I didn’t find anything that I disliked about the book, and I like how the author is very down-to-earth and humble in the tips and information that he provides. I also like how the book is well-organized; dividing it into two parts works, in my opinion. And finally, I loved how at the end we even get a little bit of his thoughts on the global economy and politics.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to start in the stock trading business, as the book provides helpful information while also giving useful tips for life in general.
