Learn The Simple Truth to Achieving Optimum Health by Thomas S. Ciranlo, M.S., C.L.

This book is full of great information! I found myself highlighting, underlining, and taking notes. Some of the information may shock you. This book is a compilation of the author’s research and his findings. He provides many references, studies, and articles written by doctors and experts. He can back up everything he says. He emphasizes the need to keep it simple and clean and to use the power of positive thoughts, no matter what year you were born. The author states on several occasions that the book's purpose is to get you to open your eyes and, hopefully, start giving control of your health back to your body and not someone in a white coat.

This book was published in 2001. Some topics he writes about have changed, and some things have come to light. People have a better understanding of some new facts. People have begun to check ingredient labels and look at where their food comes from. They are realizing there is glyphosate contaminating our wheat and soy, chemical dyes, and chemicals in their food. People are also learning of the importance of maintaining optimum health and becoming disease-free. The book covers topics that include weight loss, the lymphatic system, parasites, antibiotics, milk, beef, diet, and so much more.

As much as I liked this book, there are also some dislikes. I, at times, had trouble following when an article stopped and the author started again. Some of the articles could be summarized and listed in the references page. Sometimes it felt like a filler; other times it was necessary to prove the point. The book was also not edited well; there were many grammar errors throughout the book.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for trusted information to better their health and develop a healthy lifestyle. A notebook and pen are also recommended because you are going to want to capture all the useful and practical information. This book could be considered a reference book due to all of the facts and remedies provided. There are recipes, lists of recommended products, a challenge, and research/study facts.

I give this book a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. While I thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from reading it, the book contained many grammar errors throughout the book. I also felt there were too many full-verbatim articles in the content. If the book had better editing and limited some of the full articles that could just be referenced, this book would then earn a perfect score.

It is great to see that diet could be a simple path towards optimal health. I am hopeful that the author will consider having the book taken through another round of editing to eliminate the errors, especially the obvious ones. Thanks for the review, @Melanie McCloud.

Thanks for the honest and insightful review. It’s great to hear that the book offers so much practical health advice and encourages readers to take back control over their well-being. I appreciate you mentioning the balance between informative content and the editing flaws—those kinds of details help set expectations. Even with its imperfections, it sounds like a valuable resource, especially for anyone who’s serious about making long-term lifestyle changes.
