BOOM! A Revolting Situation by Thomas Richard Harry depicts the current political situation in America where voters have no choice of choosing their preferred political parties. This lack of choice is brought by the bipartisan nature of the country. In every election cycle in the USA, there are only two political parties. Voters have no otherwise but to choose their leaders from these two political camps. Liberals are for the Democratic Party whereas Conservatives are for the Republican Party.

Since more and more American citizens are becoming tired of these limited political choices, there is only one potential cure, revolution! The book excavates the rot in the American ideological structure of government. It equally exposes the negative side of the two-party political system of the USA. The book tries to give suggestions on how to improve the structure of the American government. Harry gives his opinion on why people who are neither inclined towards Democratic Party nor Republican Party should be given alternative political options.

This story traces its dates to the time of the American Revolution. Harry seems to have proper information on government, history and politics. He tells us about Alexander Hamilton who is an icon in America’s Revolutionaries. The author does not just throw points and leave them there. Instead, he is keen enough to prop his statements using proven facts, statistical data and historical evidences. The author engages his readers at the very scratch of the book. This he does by lecturing them on America’s history in the early sections of the story.

The author lubricates his readers’ understanding of the story by explaining and defining complicated terminologies to them. Although I never saw any problem with this, I was tempted to believe that the author must be trying to spoon feed his readers. The author has perfect knowledge on the topic and has written the book with very high standards. He has given the book his very best making it a must read political thriller that intrigues and captivates throughout.

Nevertheless, I had one problem with the book. The author writes in first person stand point and this prevents him from personalizing and commanding the book well. As I was reading the book, his first person narration kept on withdrawing my attention from the book. In my own opinion, I could have loved if the author wrote down the major points. This could have just been enough. I equally noticed his neutral status as he is pointing the sins of both the donkey and the elephant. Since he is not partisan, he installs great confidence in his audience, readers.

Since this book hinges upon history and politics, I would recommend it to people who love history and politics. Students pursuing courses related to these fields will equally find it helpful. Since I only hated the first person narration, I gave this book 4 out of 4 stars. Friends, BOOM! A Revolting Situation Is such a lovely political thriller that will retain you at the edge of your seat.

Thanks for the review! It's so interesting that you liked the book. I did not like it very much. You comment about first person is interesting. Getting out of first person may have also helped him focus more on facts.
