In Lessons Learned as a Nazarite by Zachary James, the author shares how they went from being an angry teenager who hated everything and everyone, including God, to becoming God's representative. It all began with the Nazarite Vow the author took and what they learned from multiple scriptures about how they should have been living their life. Why were Zachary’s teenage years so difficult? What is the Nazarite Vow?

My favorite aspect of this book was the way Zachary James intertwined personal and work experiences with the religious aspects. This made it apparent that no matter what I may be struggling with in life, there is a scripture that can guide me through it. I appreciate how the author explained the benefits of small victories and maintaining calmness when angry. The explanation of why God may view my religious actions as no more than lip service and not true gratitude or love for Him made me stop and think for a few minutes about the time I spend thinking about God.

I give this exceptionally well-edited book 5 out of 5 stars because the author’s honesty about himself and his faults was impressive, and there were no errors or negative aspects. All the scriptures were relevant to the discussion at the correct point in the narrative, which adds further justification for the perfect score.

Any mature adult wanting to learn more about God and get into a closer relationship with Him will benefit from reading this book. Although this book is based on the Jewish faith, readers can use their own translations of the scriptures and still benefit from reading it. Atheists and other non-religious groups may not enjoy reading this book because it is about God and contains many scriptures. I will caution sensitive readers and parents that this book does contain non-borderline profanity that they may find offensive or inappropriate.

A book that supposes to address anything dealing with holy scriptures would do well to quote the scriptures and draw proofs from there. The little I know about Nazirites is from the Bible and hence it would be good to learn from the book. Thank you for the informative review, @Bertha Jackson.

The book left a good impression in you and it wasn't hard to see why. Such books about transformation are usually good because they show people from their lowest to thriving.
‘When you do a good deed, people are grateful, and that creates a nice feeling inside you; and then because it feels good, that makes you want to do more good deeds. That repetition is the cycle of goodness.’

I believe this book would be really helpful to people facing difficult times, and are unsure of their walk with God. The story to me highlights the importance of not focusing on the issues or obstacles in front of you, but on God. This was an amazing review
