Review of Inner Affirmations

Are you facing difficulties in life that you're struggling with? In the book Inner Affirmations: Using Mindfulness To Connect To Your Inner Wisdom by Katharine A. Chestnut, the author uses a unique journaling style of writing affirmations with their non-dominant hand to overcome the trauma and self-doubt they suffered from their narcissistic spouse. Why would using your non-dominant hand to write help you? To learn more, grab a copy of this book and improve your life by reconnecting with yourself and your core values. How does this type of journaling connect to being mindful?
My favorite aspect of this short book is that the author removed any excuses I had for not trying this technique. For example, I am too busy, I don't have a non-dominant hand, I don't know what to write, etc. The author provides evidence that this type of journaling helped her by providing resources, including apps, books, workshops, and other tools that they have used. The Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Program, as well as topics concerning how our brain works, our ego, self-criticism, judgmental thinking, self-efficacy, etc., were informative. I enjoyed stopping to do the experiments and exercises in the book. Katharine did an excellent job of describing what affirmations are, their history, and why they are used. Almost all of the chapters began with a quote that inspired me. My favorite one, and the one I think best describes this book, is "The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe," by Gustave Flaubert.
There was nothing I disliked about this book, as it flowed smoothly and was exceptionally well-edited. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the many positive aspects I previously discussed and the valuable information it provided. I did not encounter any reason to deduct any stars from this error-free book.
Anyone who wants to relax, reduce stress, and enjoy writing and meditating should read this book. This book contains some borderline profanity that may be offensive to some readers.
