Thomas Richard Harry seems to be discontented with the bipartisan political system of the USA. I strongly believe that this is the force that drives him towards writing this political thriller, BOOM! A Revolting Situation. The author proceeds to disclose to his readers that a good number of American voters of today prefer to remain politically neutral. They see it fine not to identify with any of the political parties. They do belong to neither the Democratic Party nor the Republican Party.
Supporting his evidence with facts from the recent results from polls conducted by the US newspapers, the author reveals that that people who are politically neutral are the majority in the American political field. He describes political neutrality as the new revolution in the American politics. According to the author, both political parties seem not to address the plight of the Americans. I liked the author’s brief narration of the American political history. He goes ahead to describe how the American government structure was founded. This vivid description establishes a suitable foundation for the story to flourish and mature.
The author independently presents his opinions while at the same time, he is keen to ensure that he has not taken any side. Since the story is not left-leaning, I believe many readers will easily develop strong confidence in the story. The author supports his points and opinions using evidences from various publications and statistical data. This makes the story valid and easy to understand and interpret. Harry enables his readers to see for themselves where both the elephant and the donkey might have gone astray.
It is indeed surprising to realize that the number of people who are politically neutral in the USA make up a cool forty percent of the entire voter population in the United States of America. This shows the sorry state of American politics whereby every win in every election is determined by only thirty percent of the voters. Independent voters choose to vote for candidates whom they believe have ideologies and manifestos that are somehow close to their own opinions.
The author sounds a warning that one day, the independent voters may merge and create a wedge in the American political landscape. This book is vital in educating American readers about their country since it sheds a lot of light on the history and politics of this country. Such books are not everyday books to be read lightly but are meant to challenge readers. This book provokes intellectual capacity of readers as it encourages people to argue instead of blindly believing in what they are told. I would thus recommend it to lovers of politics and history. Students taking courses that touch on these fields will also find BOOM! A Revolting Situation to be a perfect read.
Since this book is well written and edited, I choose to rate it 4 out of 4 stars. It is a very perfect political thriller that many readers will love.
