Review of Minimum Wage Millionaire (Version 1, released July 28th 2025)
The author, Eckhart Aurelius Hughes, assures that even minimum-wage earners have the potential to become millionaires, provided the reader diligently follows the rules laid out in the book. The word ‘guaranteed’ on the cover caught my attention. Fearful that I am in the ‘too-late-to-start’ category, yet hopeful that I will find some simple yet concrete steps for the whole family, I purchased Minimum Wage Millionaire. I like the concept of systematically investing a portion of today’s earnings to provide returns in the future. Youngsters will benefit the most from the plan proposed in the book, setting them on a path toward financial literacy, responsibility, and stability.
The author explains how and why it is infinitely easy and how anyone can achieve whatever they set their minds to. I have read In It Together by the same author, gradually implemented the suggestions, experienced a change in mindset, and vouch for them. He reiterated in this book that it boils down to the choices we make. He highlights how individuals tend to hide behind the comforting but miserable illusions.
The author begins by defining the term ‘Net Income’ and then lists 17 principles/rules. He does not waste time and jumps directly to state some prerequisites (non-negotiables): honesty and self-discipline. I concur with the author that trust takes a long time to build, while just one dishonest act can shatter it to worse than zero. The other rules engage readers in topics like seemingly lucrative offers that inevitably lead people into a debt trap. He advises prioritizing foreclosure of all high-interest loans and also explains why one should never borrow more than what they already have.
He aptly compares having a debt to being in a slow boat on our ride to Millionaire Island. Adding to this debt would be akin to jumping off that slow boat, too, and further delaying the outcome. The author reassures readers who may have already violated some rules or are starting late. He recommends adhering to the rules with immediate effect, which will lead them to their desired outcome, albeit with a little delay, making the concepts useful for everyone to apply.
The remaining chunk of the book further addresses crucial aspects, not just in the context of finances, but in all walks of personal and professional life. Thus, in a way, the book nudges the young to start earning and provides direction by suggesting practical steps and measurable charts for those who are already earning. The principles are a guide to becoming responsible and financially stable citizens.
The figures and the investment options are tailored to cater to the US audience. But the core fundamentals remain the same and will require some fine-tuning based on the readers’ base country. I appreciate the direct tone, the straightforwardness, and the practicality of the book. Additionally, the author offers continued support to address any challenge one may face on their journey.
I did not find any objective errors while reading and can confirm excellent editing. I have no negative comments regarding the content or the layout of the book. I have identified aspects that will help me streamline my efforts toward my goal. I learned about the importance of timely and calculated risks and the impact of compounding. Unfortunately, this is where my husband and I have erred; we saved but invested only in the safest options. Not having diversified, savings failed to keep up with the rate of inflation. The suggestions in the book are strong and align with the projected returns if my husband and I had invested two decades ago. I wonder why these are not included in the core subjects taught to students. I am glad that I found this book for my daughters, and I happily rate it five out of five stars. Pick up your copy of Minimum Wage Millionaire to learn more. The book has something for all age groups; early entrants will reap the most from it.

I'm not a believer that anything can be achieved, but we can try. The review makes me excited to read the book soon.
Thank you.
