Boom! a Revolting Situation is a book written by Thomas Richard Harry to explore the failure of politics as intended in theory and the general shortfall of government expectations on the populace. I'm guessing the book is distributed by iUniverse inc. if not also published by them. The cover design is by Victoria Valentine.

The author opens his discussion by explaining his personal stance, pigeonholing himself using terms like liberal, moderate conservative and independent. This shows us how the politics in the United States of America has matured over the decades, since majority of developing countries don't harbor such definitions as yet. You most likely either support the current government/persons in power, or are part of the opposition. Those who don't want any part of it are simply neutral. The author also asks if any are aware that there could be a revolution happening and are none the wiser. The American populace is increasingly getting aware of the fact that they are hardly getting the results they want from government to government, together with the political process, where ‘the people’ can only choose from those who are made available by the two main parties. They need a choice that is an actual alternative.

I like the fact that the author uses researched information to put across his points. For instance, statistics are used to show how the American populace in various locations voted recently, showing places like Brook Park, Ohio (more than half are independent; that's more than all Democrats and Republicans combined), California, (more than a quarter are independent/won't mention party preference) etc. He also uses storytelling as well as mock conversation to express his opinion but uses ‘we’ instead of ‘I’ where he can. This helps in holding one's attention.

This book seems to fairly complement The Right To Nominate by Thomas E Peterson, which address the nomination process as the channel through which the people of America can get back the ability to put the very people they want into government. Any revolutionary would benefit from these two books, which have gone through research over many years and written by seasoned 'elders’. “...to answer the original question posed above of how the greatest country in the world can govern itself in a more responsive, responsible, effective, and self-satisfying manner.” (Thomas Richard Harry) I'd recommend this book to them, and any other person in politics who would like to make a positive change. It would help if one can have a resource that helps identify what's not working since many of us find ourselves learning on the job.

I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars mainly for its value in terms of information. If America would implement the advice in this book it would go a long way in influencing the politics of other nations which emulate her. It seems professionally edited, hardly any error noted.
