Roadmap to the End of Days is a book that integrates biblical, historical, and scientific content to predict, as closely as possible, when the world as we know it will end and transition into the “world to come”, also can be termed as the “Divine Plan”. By first establishing a chronological frame of history, Daniel Friedmann uses time itself to establish the basis of his theory and uses it to illustrate a relationship between old and new events. One can tell Friedmann has a rather extensive knowledge of religious teachings and a vivid interest in history as he hurls his audience into a world of insight and catches your attention from the very beginning. Ultimately he is set on asking these questions, “When will the End of Days arrive and when it does, will we as a people be ready when it arrives?”
As a religious person myself, I found this book extremely interesting in that it teamed two areas of knowledge together where most deem them to remain separated: religion and science as he places biblical history inside of human history (which is something that is unique to me as biblical history is often seen as fiction). One major theme in this book seems to be, and the author specifically mentions it himself, is that history repeats itself and he proves this point constantly throughout the book. A theme of completion also arises and brings upon the individual a sense of ease as the author establishes a relationship between biblical teachings and their time frames to other historical content.
I don’t believe that there was anything I didn’t like about this book in hindsight but what I found to be interesting was his use of numerous religious scriptures throughout religion as he used evidence from the Torah, the Bible, and others which might, in the long run, opens the book to a wider audience with different religious backgrounds. I believe this book will appeal to people who ultimately have the same questions the author did. People who have questions about existence and why they are here in this world. I believe this book is also a target of religious and historical scholars and even skeptics although skeptics would have the least appeal.
From my reading, I do believe that this book was professionally edited as was presented in a comprehensive way. He goes into great detail when he attempts to explain things that the reader may not understand. I would warn that future readers be careful of the extensions or outlets you use to view this book because I had a couple of difficulties finding an epub extension that displayed full pages or clear tables and diagrams in the book. This is in no way, I believe, is the authors or the publisher's fault, but my own.
In conclusion, I rate this book a 4 out of 4 because of the extensive research this author did in order to make this book and also for the insight it gave me into myself as an individual and how I see the world and God himself. This book will open you up to new questions and inquiries about the world and other things. If you are looking for a book that will make you think, then this is a great book for you.
