She appears to be outgoing, but she feels socially awkward on the inside. She often tries to blend into the crowd hoping that no one will speak to her. Author Bridget Myers Gunsby shares the lessons that she has learned on her journey to better herself in her work of nonfiction titled Work in Progress: 21 Days To A More Positive Me.

A great many people are interested in becoming a better version of themselves. Often times it is difficult to see where to begin. Likewise, one could find themselves unsure how to continue once they have begun a journey of self-improvement. It is best to take it one day at a time. First, start each day with a positive thought. Next, resolve to be a better person today than you were yesterday. It is important to decide what the best version of you is without the influence of others. By Day Eleven you will feel a shift. At this half-way point, you will be well on your way to becoming calmer and happier. Your path will be clear, and you will see that life can be beautiful.

I don’t always enjoy books in the self-help genre. However, I found the flow of this short read to be pleasant and calming. The author’s positivity is contagious, and her words are sure to inspire her readers. The only thing that was missing from this book was a step for making the decision to become a better person. The author advises her readers to take each step one day at a time. In my opinion, Day One should be the day for thinking about the reasons a change or changes should be made. This book includes direct instructions and activities that will help the reader implement the author’s methods in everyday life.

The author is a precise writer, and her experiences were a pleasure to read. This book is skillfully written, organized, and edited. There is not one grammar error to be found. I recommend this book to nonfiction readers with an interest in self-improvement.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This is a well-written and well-organized book. I am impressed by the author’s ability to create an enjoyable reading experience while providing valuable advice. The author’s intelligence and experience shine through in this quick read. There is valuable advice and information in this book for people beginning a journey of self-improvement.

I'm adding this one to my list, it sounds very inspiration without being right in your face about it. Thanks for the great review.

Some self-help books are so hokey. It's always a joy to find one with depth.

I usually disregard self-help books but I think the title of this one is really inspiring: we are all a work in progress and we could benefit from living more intentionally and trying to better ourselves.

Self-help books are not normally my kind of read. However, this book seems like a short read, and a good flow always helps, too. Great job on your review! It's very well-written.

I think that this is a book that would be good for me to read. It would definitely be a good start to a positive mental attitude.

As you said, this is a book that is relatable to many (me included). I am interested to see how the author covers this subject. I like that there are direct instructions and activities on how to do it. So many self-help books just give you the information without the application. Thanks for your review.
