We begin in a glass maze, looking for an exit, wandering around thinking the next turn will be the exit, but are you repeating yourself? Have you been here before? Eventually you stumble towards the end. Is history the same way? Is there a direction and reason to go that way? Does it repeat itself? History is known to have a beginning, the story of creation and when humans appeared, and an end, commonly known as the end of days. Roadmap to the End of Days, by Daniel Friedmann, takes on the huge task of exploring human history from a religious perspective. The author did his homework on biblical timeframes, science, and history to create his roadmap explained in the book.
The author begins by defining terms, advising of events, and lays down information regarding the study of the end of days. Patterns are explored and how human involvement intervened. Theologies are examined, and religious and historical texts are sited to support information.
If the reader is not religious or familiar with history or biblical references, it is alright and not necessary. The author provides footnotes and a glossary to help assist with understanding. Timetables are included that list past and present events to assist the readers in developing a clear picture of what we learned in history, and how that mixes into the Divine Plan, from God’s Word. The timetable is even divided into a basic format stating with the six days of creation, then 6000 years of history, then the 1000 years of the 7th millennium.
The author is smart to advise that no one will know when the exact end of days will come, as it has been said before that it was happening and never did, leaving people sceptical. This book is also theoretical but offers support for the author’s opinion on our roadmap, why we are where we are, and where the road may lead.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I was honestly nervous about reading it because I tend to get scared about this topic very easily. I don’t like to hear about asteroids, earthquakes, or any type of catastrophic event. However, curiosity won out and I apprehensively dove in. I was impressed that the book was written where no matter what your background is, you could follow along with the timeline. It is geared towards certain religions such as Christianity but anyone interested in science or history could also enjoy it. This is a non-fiction book that I would recommend for adults.
