Review by seymmarc -- Roadmap to the End of Days
[Following is a volunteer review of "Roadmap to the End of Days" by Daniel Friedmann.]

Roadmap to the End of Days by Daniel Friedmann is an intellectual discussion of ‘The End of Days’ (i.e. the end of the world). In the beginning, Friedmann compares history to a glass maze. This brings about the question of how do we get to the end? Is there only one path; or are there many paths? The bible is clear that there will be an end to the world as we know it; bringing peace to Earth. But it isn’t clear on when this will happen.
Friedmann analyzes patterns and events within the bible. This analysis leads to the explanation of how it coincides with our history. For example, Jacob and Esau's conflict coincides with the conflict in WWI. He goes further to discuss where on the timeline we fit in. Is there a possibility that we can speed up to the end? The difficulty comes in realizing when these critical periods are happening. This knowledge may bring us closer to gaining a better understanding of the end.
As someone who doesn’t practice Christianity, I found this book to be very enlightening. I was very impressed at how the author presented ideas and scenes from the Bible. The ideas and concepts are easy to understand for both believers and non-believers. The use of the references, various figures, and charts in the back were very valuable. I recommend referencing these as you read. I can’t say the author transformed my beliefs. Though, his points and examples were well-researched and seem very credible.
I found myself relating the debate between free will vs Divine Providence. Do we have free will? Or is everything that happens a part of a bigger plan that is out of our control? I love how Friedmann explains that we are beings with free will. We have the capability to choose between right and wrong. These choices can alter minute details of the ‘bigger picture’ but in the end, we are objects of God’s will.
There are some people who may find this hard to read. This is because a lot of the information is set on interpretation and a specific set of beliefs. Even within Christian groups, there are many interpretations of the religious texts. An open mind is necessary to appreciate this book in full. I don’t believe the author is trying to ‘convert’ people to his beliefs. But rather, introduce you to ideas and patterns that you may not have noticed before.
I found zero errors and it seems edited by a professional. There was nothing I didn’t like about this book. It was very factual and intriguing. I was able to open my mind to possibilities beyond my current beliefs. Friedmann does a wonderful job of inciting curiosity and thought among his readers. Because of this, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
