Roadmap to the End of Days by Daniel Friedmann takes what we have heard of the apocalypse and masterfully ties it to a timeline supported by prophesy in the Bible/Talmud. This book is the third book of a three-part series following The Genesis One Code and The Broken Gift. The book is different from many other end times scenarios with the Messiah that many other books have in their content. Friedmann skillfully reviews Abrahamic religions, provides documentation and a glossary so readers who are not completely familiar with Judaism, Islam, and Christianity can easily understand the relationships. In addition, he displays the descendants of Abraham by using a descendant chart for individuals to show where the split between Judaism and Islam took place. The relationships between major biblical characters and modern events is also shown pictorially to make his explanation and conclusions easier to follow. The way Friedmann weaves these events into a pattern that he believes is set for mankind to usher in the Messiah and the Seventh Millennium is indeed powerful. Including that the free will and choices of mankind can impact the arrival of the Messiah encourages readers who believe his scenario to follow the advice he outlines.
I enjoyed Friedmann's ability to connect and support information that exists in the Talmud/Bible to reach a conclusion of the when to expect the Messiah. The pictorial information in the book made it very easy to follow his theory. I learned many things that I did not know about Judaism such as the 10 Sefirot, Noahide Laws (laws provided by god to Noah) and how these fit in with his explanation of prophesy and the ability to determine a timeline. He presented the material in a way that allowed me to keep reading the book and have an open mind to all the information he provided.
I understand the concepts without reading the first two books in the series. However, I think it may prepare some other readers better for the conclusion if they read The Genesis One Code and The Broken Gift prior to reading this book. He mentions the books and their contents in the beginning of this book to help in the preparation. However, if individuals do not choose to read the earlier books first, I think he should mention reading the glossary of this book first. It would be a good start so readers who are not as familiar with the Abrahamic religions are better able to understand the terms he uses and the connections that he makes throughout the book. However, Friedmann is caught in a catch 22 in this book when appealing to the Christian market. Should he not mention Jesus and how he fits into the picture or mention him and refute that he is the Messiah? I am sure he may have struggled over which may allow for reading by a wider audience or alienate some readers.
I recommend this book to people interested in biblical prophecy and end of times scenarios. Those intent in discovering evidence of a timeline and how it can be calculated or in learning information about Abrahamic religions will find this book engaging and thought provoking. However, many Christians may have difficulty keeping an open mind to this interpretation of the end times due to no direct correlation drawn between Jesus and the Messiah.
I rate Roadmap to the End of Days by Daniel Friedmann 4 out of 4 stars. The timeline and information presented in the book is very engaging. It was interesting to follow the progression of the timeline and learn new information. I may read the others in the series to get more in-depth information regarding key dates and historical characters background. The book is well edited evidenced by the lack of errors in spelling, grammar or in Bible/Talmud content.
