The Ultimate Island by Amit Offir is a traveling book all about Malta. Amit Offir goes vacationing and exploring to a multitude of destinations. His traveling stories have been well received for some time now. This exciting tale about Malta shows off the beauty of the island and its locals. As I was reading, I felt like I was there on the adventure with Offir. This use of stories to inform the reader about the island is a powerful method and worked extremely well.
This travel guide was an amazing read! Offir describes why Malta is such a wanted destination. It is inexpensive with impressive sites a short distance from places to stay. Whenever I travel, I look for places with those exact requirements. Who wants to go somewhere new just to spend most of their time in a car? The island also boasts 7,000 years of fascinating history to learn about and feel a part of. Offir's adventure begins with him explaining why he chose to visit Malta. He also covers how and why he decided to travel more and how he encourages others to do the same.
His adventures continue as he visits numerous places on the island. These included: Valletta, Saint Peter's Pool, Gozo, Comino Island, Manikata, and more! Each chapter takes you on a new day of his adventure and to a new location. He spends a total of about a week in Malta. He does a wonderful job expressing the beauty of the island and the activities available.
This is a delightful book for anyone who enjoys travel and exploring new places. Even if you don't enjoy doing the traveling yourself, you will enjoy hearing Offir's stories. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't enjoy this book. I suppose it wouldn't hold the attention of younger kids. However, Offir includes pictures with each chapter that really help capture the island's beauty!
I am giving The Ultimate Island 4 out of 4 stars. Its editing was done impeccably well. I enjoyed how Offir wrote this guide with a sense of story in mind. You can tell that he wants the reader to be a part of the adventure; not just sitting on the sidelines. This helps the reader remain engaged. I like how much I learned about Malta throughout reading this book without feeling like I was reading an informational guide. Everyone should give this a read if they have an hour or two to spare.
