Awaken & Grow: A Practical Guide For Your Spiritual Journey by Christine Agro is a non-fiction book that describes the various phases of a spiritual journey. Starting with awakening, the author describes how an awakening happens, what types of messages we receive during this period, what a spiritual journey encompasses, and how one continues to grow and learn throughout the process. The author has years of experience in the field of spirituality; she has worked as a spiritual teacher, holds degrees in the field, and is a self-proclaimed clairvoyant.

Written in an easy-to-understand manner, Awaken & Grow includes a lot of information for those seeking to learn more about spirituality. The author’s voice is strong and comes across as reliable. Agro utilizes personal stories to bolster her spiritual ideas. Animal lovers will find a strong connection to the author. Many of Agro's stories focus on how her spiritual adventures have been impacted by animals. Moreover, the book is nicely organized. The narrative begins with basic ideas and flows into more complex themes, and the use of sections and subsections makes it easy to refer back to specific ideas. Unfortunately, there were some grammatical errors in the text, mostly basic typos and comma errors. However, it should be noted that these errors didn’t impact the reading experience.

As much as I enjoyed the principles provided in this book, there was a disappointing lack of implementation information. It isn’t until the very last sections that a call to action is made. The lack of applicable tools seemed to stem from the author’s focus on describing her in-class work instead of focusing on how to convey actionable exercises or spiritual tools in written form. Many times, the author described exercises and tools she taught during a class; however, these were never fully explained to the reader.

Further, the author constantly refers to a ‘Bonus Pack.’ This pack is full of free gifts (tutorials, challenges, and additional programs) and is accessible via a link to the author’s website. On its own, this isn’t a book one can feel fully satisfied about upon completion. The book is only a beginning tool; much of the important information one most likely desires has to be accessed separately.

Awaken & Grow is difficult to rate. There is a lot of great information for those just starting out on their spiritual journey, but I found the narrative frustrating because of the lack of actionable information and the focus on describing classroom activities. Finally, I decided on 3 out of 4 stars, but my rating includes a caveat that those looking to move into the spiritual realm must be willing to access the content of the free bonus pack. Considering only the book and not the additional content, Awaken & Grow may appeal to those who are interested in learning about spirituality from a reliable source but aren’t looking for specific exercises or tools.

This book would have been great for me some 10-15 years ago when I started on my spiritual path. However, I would have definitely needed a set of tool to work with. Exercises like meditation, aware of self, etc. The only thing I'm not sure is whether the book is religious in nature (which I don't care for) or it's one accessible by everyone - regardless of their religious paths (those are the books I like reading and learning from). A great review, btw.

A spiritual journey isn't easy, some of those who should be eating solids, also find themselves unable to grind and turn to liquids. I won't mind revisiting the book,I might need to review some steps in my walk with Christ.

I'm not much into discussing our "spiritual journey." However, if I do, I definitely would want more information on how to implement those changes, not just abstract concepts. For those reasons, I doubt I'll be reading this book. I'm glad that you got something out of it. Thanks.

A good book should be 'enough'. The additional material ought to be 'optional'. So I reckon this goes into the 'pass' category. Excellent review all the same.

I can't say that I am much of a spiritual person for now, but it's certainly clear that this book is a pretty good resource for those looking to go on the journey. I can definitely think of people whom I know will enjoy this book. Thank you for the review.

Spiritual journeys are so personal. It is always interesting to read about someone's experience of moving through that process. It can be frustrating when the implementation piece isn't there. Nice job reviewing this one.

This sounds like a great book for those starting the spiritual journey, however as mentioned in the review the lack of action plan will present a major problem to many people.

I enjoy reading spiritual journeys and spiritual memoirs, especially if the author has insights that propel me forward in my own journey. If it is too abstract, though, I lose interest. This author sounds like her story may have something to offer (and I often find that I skip the tools anyway; maybe that's my problem??). Thanks for the great review!

It sounds like the extra content pack is actual integral information. Maybe it should have been included in the book itself.

With the possibility of extra tools and an ending concerned with implementation, this book leaves the reader, perhaps, with an unfulfilled feeling. The beginning seems uplifting enough, and perhaps is good as an introductory book. Thank you reviewer.

I've always been drawn to books that help me grow and learn more about myself. When I read "Awaken & Grow", I was blown away by Christine Agro's writing style. It's like having a conversation with a friend who's been on a similar journey. The book is super practical, with actionable advice and tools that I can apply to my life right away. I love how Agro shares her own experiences and insights - it's so relatable. One thing that really stood out to me was the emphasis on community and human connection. It's something I've been trying to focus on more in my own life, and Agro's words really resonated with me. The book is all about tapping into the universe's energy and potential, and I found that really inspiring. Agro's passion for spirituality and personal growth is infectious - it made me want to dive deeper into my own practice. I've been recommending this book to all my friends who are on a similar path. The stories and anecdotes Agro shares are so inspiring and help illustrate key points in a way that's easy to understand. What I love most about this book is that it's not just about theory - it's about putting things into practice. Agro's approach is grounded and relatable, which I appreciate. I've been feeling stuck lately, and reading "Awaken & Grow" has given me a fresh perspective. The book is motivating and inspiring, and it's made me want to make positive changes in my life. Overall, I think "Awaken & Grow" is a must-read for anyone on a spiritual journey. It's a great starting point for those new to spirituality and a refreshing reminder for seasoned practitioners. I feel like I've gained so much from reading this book, and I'm grateful for the insights and wisdom Agro shares.
