The world is full of people we can never understand but this little peak into the working of his brain really made the story make sense. Otherwise it would have just been difficult to follow or understand his motives and the real terror in his brain

The excerpts helped put the killings in perspective and the dangers of not getting to know someone on a personal level. Phone conversations and online communication can be deceiving and we do it all the time.

It was nice to be able to figure out and understand to degree the workings of the of a sociopathic killer. It was a much needed insight. It just shows us how so many people we interact with a capable killers.

I honestly love when authors utilize this technique, particularly for intense characters like serial killers. It's so hard for most people to really comprehend what a serial killer might be thinking, and it's also hard to recognize that there are some people who portray themselves in such a different way then they are really thinking. I love that these excerpts allow the reader to really get into the mind of the character.

Those excerpts were undoubtedly an insightful addition to the book. I found it chilling, interesting, and uncomfortable to read the thought process. It enhanced the mystery behind the psyche and motive of the killer.

I really appreciate that the author added the excerpt. The human mind really is unpredictable. He doesn't seem like someone who would be a killer at all. Seeing what's in his mind is very scary.

It is an advantage that the author added the excerpt. It sounds like the source of chilling and unsetttlement. It was soo disappointment that he seemed normal and sweet to Zia without alarm of a serial killer.

I think that these excerpts are too few and far between to be effective. They gave the slightest glimpse to where it disrupted the narrative of Zia’s experiences more than anything. If these segments had been more fleshed out, they would have worked far better, and I would have loved to see a fuller picture in regards to the killer’s reasonings and motives.

Looking inside of a mind of the killer felt very disturbing. On the other hand, I have sometimes wondered how does a mind of someone like that work. Assuming that the reality is how the author described it, now I’ve got a clue. I guess what I am trying to say is that looking inside of a mind of a killer was both horrifying and scary, but also fascinating. Also, it does not feel totally terrifying when you can do this through a fictional book from the safety of your own reading chair.

I enjoyed being able to see to horror aspect of the book first hand. As a huge horror fan this made the book even better for me because not only did I get to experience some incredible horror but also some romance. The moments when Bax was acting so sweet made the reveal of his true mind more terrifying.

In many cases most reader were attracted to the killer, the author bringing such character made the book more interesting and diverse and to me I felt like I was watching a movie as there is all sort of people in the book, the good ones and the bad ones.

I liked the suspense created by these excerpts. They kept the readers wondering what kind of person Zia was dealing with. Zia's emotions and her indecision about her feelings for Bryce and Baxter kept readers guessing. The author did a good job of "confusing" readers about who Zia would end up with.

The excerpts into the "mind of the killer" were really interesting, but I was disappointed by the repetitive verbiage and themes, or at least with the way they were presented. There could have been so much more done with those sections - expansion, backstory, and true insight into the killer's motives and methods.

Those excerpts are interesting at the same time terrifying. It makes me wonder how many people we interact in daily life has these thoughts. But the thing is we can't identify them with casual interactions or their features.

You can never know what a person thinks. The killer seemed calm, pretending to be a good person in front of Zia. The author has a twisted plot.
