I believe the book's ending does give away tips that John was the designer of the building. Of course this is open to different interpretations but there is little to suggest otherwise.

I am pretty sure John must be the true designer, though with howuch Peter knows about it, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns to be Peter.

The intricate details that were known by John tell me that he was the true designer of the building. He just knew a lot that can only be known by the designer. It was John.

I believe John is the one who designed the Zenith building, as proved by its similarity to his college designs.

I believe John is the designer even after waking up and realizing he has amnesia he decides to hide facts about it. In addition the destruction of the building signifies a lot for John.

The author’s sympathies like mine lean towards John. This is also confirmed by the fact that the book mentions John's sketches while he was in college. So I think John is the true designer.

The way the book itself handled it would seem to suggest that John is the designer and I agree.

I think John is the true designer, based on the description of the author and the story. In my opinion Pete is just a distraction to add some spice in the story.

I am much inclined towards John as there is more evidence pointing in his direction.

The book made it quite evident that John was the brains behind the operation. However, it appears contrary when looking at Peter's accident's specifics.
