I think it is true. What I find arguable is if the amnesia came as a result of his accident.

I think it would be kind of hard to pretend like you have amnesia when you really don't. You would have to be really dedicated and an outstanding actor so I do believe John's amnesia was real. But I can understand why others can't.

I think that John's Amnesia was real but not entirely. U think he also used it as an excuse to escape his guilt a little. But I feel it would be too hard to constantly pretend pretend to have Amnesia.

Amnesia is a function of the human brain to remove bad facts, because the person does not receive psychological trauma. I think John's amnesia was real and I really have reason to think it happened as a result of an accident

Here was a small town architect who had been hoping for the big break. Then came the break he had wished for all his life, so what would be the motive for faking amnesia. Nothing in the story suggests he was in debt or greatly missed his ex-wife. His daughter was only separated from him by distance. The amnesia was induced by the impact on his head and so is genuine.

I actually think his amnesia is real. Amnesia is not a pretence one could keep up with for a long time, there will certainly be a slip-up somewhere. He's trying to overcome the psychological trauma he is passing through.

It's real amnesia but whether it was from the accident or John suppressing and dissociating from his unsavory past is debatable.

I believe that the amnesia he got wasn't from the accident, however, he was not faking it. It could have been a result of the mental illness he was facing.

I have no reason to believe John's amnesia was a fake. From his character's development, I guess the accident triggered a cascade of mental issues connected to his personal problems and caused amnesia.

The amnesia was definitely veritable, but I am skeptical about it being as a result of the accident. I think the accident was the first domino to fall that cascaded into his amnesia.

I believe John's amnesia to be genuine, but it stemmed from a mental disease rather than a collision or a fall. He struggled with a lot of troubles in his life and hid their truth from himself.
