It was like she has the body and mind of a 16 year old but she actually is 201! It's a bit hard to comprehend that as her maturity level is much below than average, but it might be because of her upbringing.

She did not spend 201 years in the human world. I liken it to a 200-year-old alien landing on earth. They will definitely find it hard to adjust and many things will be foreign to them.

Why would someone who had lived 201 years not know baseball? It's so unreal!

The princess of hell body herself. I do not fine it hard to believe, rather, I find it intriguing. I believe being the old only exists not in her mortal body, I only wished she was a bit more matured than the regular 16 year olds.

I really found it hard to believe she was 201 years old. Even if it was in another world, she should have had at least a certain level of maturity and experience. But all I saw was a naive 16 year old

Her overall behaviour does make sense with her upbringing and being stuck in HELL that she would behave in such a manner. Moreover, she seemed to not know much about normal human interactions and lifestyle.
So, her falling in love so quickly with Sebastian isn't that strange.

Brittany LaPour wrote: 29 Dec 2021, 15:59 Now I know that Cecilia is a 16-year-old junior in a 201-year-old Princess of Hell body, but the girl didn't know what basketball was? She has never been in love? I understand that perhaps she was busy killing mortals and just didn't find anyone to pine after but for her to fall so hard so quickly for Sebastian when she's so old. It seems a little bit of a character flaw to me. Maybe I'm reading too much into it because it is a young adult book but I thought she would be a tad more mature than the rest of the 16-year-olds.
Being a die-hard fan of The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, a two-hundred-year-old woman looking like a sixteen-year-old isn't hard to believe. Cecilia's naivety is, however, an entirely different matter. If she lived on earth, she must have encountered love at some point. Her not knowing of love, therefore, suggests she lived in her father's realm. Which then begs the question, how would a demon instantly fall for a human when she's supposed to be fetching his soul for hell's glory?

It is hard to believe that Cecilia is 201- years because of how immature her behavior was. How will she not know about basketball and falling so quickly in love with Sebastian?

I do not believe that. Her maturity level is way too low, although it might be because of her upbringing. But, I do not believe.

I believe Cecilia should have more experience and maturity than she is portrayed. 201 brain must have gone through a lot of experiences, Even if Lucifer wanted to shield her from all these things. Even if she didn't go through the experiences personally, she must have seen or heard one or two things about certain things.
I totally believe it's a character flaw.

In the world of make-believe it is possible so is in the world of supernatural powers. It is also a way of portraying the impossibilities that are possible.

I find it hard to believe that Cecilia was 201 years old. She should have been more mature and worldly at that age. I understand that Lucifer wanted her to live a sheltered life, but even sheltered 16-year-olds are more worldly than Cecilia at 201 years old.

It was not convincing for me that she was 201 years. There were sometimes I was like someone with 201 years of knowledge would not act like that.

I believe that, rather than speaking more about her character, her slightly naive and the social ineptitude or maturity of her personality speaks volume about the kind of life she was forced to endure living under Lucifer.

Freedom is a strong theme throughout the book. Clearly, Cecilia had her social development stunted. From that perspective, her bubbly and immature attitude tells of her tragedy.

I believe she would have been more mature, especially since the premise had her murdering and hating mortals. While she might not understand some things about the human world, I expected her to be more jaded and mistrustful. At times I forgot she was supposed to be 201 and read it like she was just another 16-year-old girl.
