Which Kiss Was Better?

Post by Brett Linette »

I actually preferred when Sebastian kissed Cecilia on the cheek than on the lips. I think they were already so deep in love prior to the kiss on the lips that, by the time it came, it didn't say anything about their feelings for one another because there was nothing more to say that they hadn't already said. It's like a couple saying that they love each other for the first time after they had already gotten married and had kids. It's boring because it's to be expected. I liked the kiss on the cheek because it brought their feelings for one another to light and changed the direction of their relationship from there on out.

What do you guys think? Did you like the kisses they shared? Which of their kisses was your favorite and why?

Well, I guess I prefer some chemistry. I like Alexander the "mIsunderstood bad boy". I would say he was much more exciting than brooding sensitive Sebastian.

I entirely disagree with you. I enjoyed the moment they had their first kiss. Yes, they were already in love, but it did not take away the thrill for me. I'm not saying I didn't find it romantic when Sebastian kissed her on the cheek; I just felt the kiss on the lips more.

Although the kiss on the lips is boring, I prefer it because it affirms love. You likened that kiss to a couple saying "I love you" after marriage and kids. That analogy is fitting because marriage and kids don't guarantee a happy ending for the couple. If a couple is even stronger after years of marriage and kids, then that's impressive. Hence, the kiss on the lips is powerful and a testament to Sebastian and Cecilia's love.

While I'm usually not a huge fan of the "misunderstood bad boy," as you put it, I have to give it to the author and say that it was done well in this book.

I should've made myself more clear and said that it's not that I don't think they should've been in love but just not as deep in love as they were. I think the kiss would've been more interesting if it deepened their love for one another, but it couldn't have deepened their love because their love was already as deep as it could get.

Because marriage and kids come with obstacles, I agree that it's impressive to see couples overcome them. Had Sebastian and Cecilia shared their first kiss after resolving a huge bump in their relationship, that would've been a testament to their love, but because all was smooth sailing moments prior to the kiss, it was to be expected and felt more procedural to me than romantic.

I like your take on it though!

Thank you for sharing your point of view.

I preferred when Sebastian kissed Cecilia because I found their love much more truthful.

I agree that the kiss between her and Sebastian was intentional, while the kiss between her and Alexander was absent-minded.

I will always go for the full-on lips kiss because it is a more intimate form of kissing personally. To kiss on the cheek always suggests a platonic touch to the whole thing.

At first, I didn't appreciate this scene, it is mind-numbingly dull, and I have anticipated something more. However, the actions of Sebastian and Cecilia, on the other hand, exemplify what it means to be in genuine love close in age. For me, that was the most exciting and thrilling part of adolescence, so what they accomplished was still fascinating enough to draw in a broad audience.

I find it hard to compare the two. Sebastian’s on the cheek was full of love and the one on the lips was just for show.

I preferred Sebastian's kiss on Cecilia's lips because it exhumes intimacy that affirms love and Chemistry between the two.

Cecilia and Sebastian are two interesting characters and the kiss on the lips hoed to show the level of chemistry between them. Although the kiss came after their relationship started, it helped to present the picture of an intimate relationship between the two characters.

I preferred the kiss on the lips. It showed a level of chemistry between the two characters that the kiss on the cheek did not.
