So, her falling in love so quickly with Sebastian isn't that strange.

Being a die-hard fan of The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, a two-hundred-year-old woman looking like a sixteen-year-old isn't hard to believe. Cecilia's naivety is, however, an entirely different matter. If she lived on earth, she must have encountered love at some point. Her not knowing of love, therefore, suggests she lived in her father's realm. Which then begs the question, how would a demon instantly fall for a human when she's supposed to be fetching his soul for hell's glory?Brittany LaPour wrote: ↑29 Dec 2021, 15:59 Now I know that Cecilia is a 16-year-old junior in a 201-year-old Princess of Hell body, but the girl didn't know what basketball was? She has never been in love? I understand that perhaps she was busy killing mortals and just didn't find anyone to pine after but for her to fall so hard so quickly for Sebastian when she's so old. It seems a little bit of a character flaw to me. Maybe I'm reading too much into it because it is a young adult book but I thought she would be a tad more mature than the rest of the 16-year-olds.

I totally believe it's a character flaw.

Freedom is a strong theme throughout the book. Clearly, Cecilia had her social development stunted. From that perspective, her bubbly and immature attitude tells of her tragedy.
