I like this book. I think it's a realistic depiction of slavery. Their fate was tragic. The book is very emotional. But I only rate it 3 out of 3 stars because there are a lot of sex paragraphs between James and Lily.

The initial concept of a master and slave falling in love made me uncomfortable, but I think the author handled it well. There was a lot of chemistry between Lily and James and it didn't come across as creepy

The story itself was good until the 70%point, then it had to get into the badly written sex scenes. historically it was terrible. Then there are the characters who seem to be developing a major role who just disappear, the southern spoiled girl who wants James. maybe shell be back in the next book, but i will not reading it.

The book had elements of romance and suspense, with an array of emotions being displaced at various points of the book, though very emphasised on little details still makes for an interesting read.....

Historical elements and romance were intertwined in this book, which definitely piqued my attention. Inevitably, there were many obstacles faced by Lily and James—especially since their relationship involves slavery—but this made room for tension and excitement. As a reader, the ups and downs of the book made me feel a whirlwind of emotions. The sexual scenes are a bit too excessive for my liking, but that doesn’t affect my overall perception of the story. I love the author’s vivid and oftentimes poignant writing approach as well. I believe this book deserves 4 out of 4 stars.

First and foremost, bingo to historical and romantic novel fans! This book is ideal for people who enjoy those kinds of novels. It's honestly very well written and keeps you on the edge of your seat, eliciting numerous types of feelings to the point where you can't put the book down. Because it describes a love story between a white man and his slave, the book reminds me of a roller coaster trip. The plot is driven by tension and frustration as the couple tries to establish a life together. I can't help but give this book a perfect rating - 4 out of 4 stars.

Oh wow, what a book. My favorite part is that I actually believed James and that I was reading a romance. I’m shaken by the ending. I’ll recommend this book, but there’s no way you’ll read the first book and not the second.

I found this book to be interesting and unlike any story I’ve ever read. I enjoyed the historical time setting along with the plot. There were many times that I couldn’t put this book down. The characters of Lily and James were nicely developed and I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow. I also found this novel to be educational. There was nothing that I disliked. I recommend The Prodigy Slave to those who enjoy romance and historical fiction novels. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

It seems that the author has left the book ending open so he would be able to write a sequel. Not all book survive to a sequel some of sequels can be a death sentence to a series. However the characters were fierce and unique with their own stories. The tension that the James and Lily have is undeniable but a relationship between a slave and an owner is dangerous. It could lead to forced betray Wich will leave only lily to suffer. I would rate this book a 3 out of 4

When I read it, it's kind of romantic love novel it is good for people who enjoy fairytale love story. The book is driven with its roller coaster love story where the man fell in love with its slave it is very imaginative thinking of the Author. So overall, it is a good book to read I enjoyed it.

I happen to be a lover of books plotted in historic periods. This book carried me on a journey of forbidden love, admirable strength and perseverance of two people separated hugely by classism during the historic era of slavery. While I am not a huge fan of overly sexualized novels as is seen very early on in the novel, seeing the romance between Lily and James grow despite the obvious odds kept me captivated. I'll give this a good 4 out of 4 stars

I enjoyed reading this one even with all the heartbreaking scenes and the tears. The message is powerful, and I’d recommend this book to anyone simply because it shows your background, the colour of your skin and how much money you have doesn’t define you. The writing made this book captivating and realistic, with genres like historical romance, suspense and fiction.

I can't help but give this book a perfect four-star rating. I suppose that readers who appreciate historical and romantic stories, such as myself, will be well served! It narrates a love story between a white guy and his slave. This book is extremely well written and keeps you on the edge of your seat, triggering a wide range of emotions. As they attempt to go on with their lives, different dynamic events and other prospects begin to interrupt them continuously.
