I completely agree. Williams was definitely a rare gem in his time as it is still shocking and really beautiful that a man as rich as he is never had any slaves and not just that, he loved and cared for Lily like he would for his own blood daughter. He helped her harness her talents and made her dream become reality. Williams is indeed such a kind man.

I entirely agree with you. William helped Lily in-spite of the fact that the society will condemn him. He was not only a rich man, but he also had a generous heart. She helped him to re-discover his passion for music. So, we can say that William is successful as a father.

I assumed I was the only one who observed that, but you're absolutely correct. The bond between William and Lily is both pure and awe-inspiring. I've also had a lot of insights about William's personality being so generous, which is something we should all aspire for. In this story, William indeed, brings music and rhythm.

In a world full of cruelty, it was kind of refreshing to see a kind man in the midst of it all. I loved how William supported Lily and never lost faith in her. I am very glad the character wrote him. I love his personality and admire his morals.

Because this is weird, and usually problematic power dynamic, I was skeptical at first. But the author did a great job in making William's kindness come through as genuine. The fact that he never expected anything in return from Lily, made it all the more real.

This was my favorite part of the book! He felt bad for Lilly and wanted to give her what she never got as a child emotionally. I hope that this relationship is mentioned again in future books.

Honestly, we need people who can sharpen our iron in life, and we sharpen theirs in return. The relationship between Lily and Williams simply depict this. The way both of them brought the best out of each other is worth emulating. I like Williams for his act of benevolence.

I loved that William is a wealthy man who falls for Lily and helps her. He has a great heart warming personality and you instantly like him because he declines to take slaves despite his wealth.

I share your opinion. William was so pivotal to Lily's success. It was so beautiful watch him fall in love with music again while helping Lily achieve her dreams. It was even better that William was a charming character. Their relationship was so typical of a father and daughter relationship and I loved it as well.

The love and support William showed Lily, especially towards her career, was so beautiful to read about. He's easily my best character in the book because he is kind-hearted.

The relationship was just beautiful. Williams character is an amazing one. He helped Lily without any ulterior motives, and wasn't arrogant despite his wealthy nature.

I have a terrible relationship with my father so it’s always soothing to see a father get along with his daughter as well as William and Lily did. They really made me enjoy reading this book. i wish i had what they have.

This is certainly the kind of characters I would love in every novel, and it's no different in this book as well. The way he treats Lily despite his "social status" and his overall personality are what make him a great father figure.
