I just finished reading this book, and I must say, it was really enthralling. The plot and characters were well formed and developed. The profound connection between Lily and James had me captivated throughout the novel. I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars.

I gave the book a rating of 4 out of 4 for being such a captivating read. I love how the author pulls you into the emotions of the characters seamlessly, thereby allowing you to have a 3D experience of their lives. Lily's character wowed me.

I must admit the twist at the end was fantastic; I definitely didn't see it coming. I was never a fan of historical romance until I read this book, now I'm sold!

I happen to be a lover of books plotted in historic periods. This book carried me on a journey of forbidden love, admirable strength and perseverance of two people separated hugely by classism during the historic era of slavery. While I am not a huge fan of overly sexualized novels as is seen very early on in the novel, seeing the romance between Lily and James grow despite the obvious odds kept me captivated. I'll give this a good 4 out of 4 stars

Will you recommend the book to other people? Why or why not?

I reviewed this book and awarded it the maximum rating of four out of four stars. I loved the author's extensive vivid descriptions of her characters; Londyn aroused feelings of empathy towards the protagonist's sufferings by describing her thoughts, fears and pain to me. Enabling my ability to relate with her not only boosted my comprehension of the book but justified the historical relevance of the text.

Lily's character was quite intriguing. She grew up as a slave with the aim to find her mother. The boom has a good plot, and I love the storyline. The book involves friendship and love. I'd rate the book 4 out of 4 stars.

Overall the book the great. It was heartfelt and flowed through the plot-line effortlessly. However, the romance keeps troubling me because, there is no true love without understanding. At no point did it truly feel like James understood Lilly and her circumstances or how her societal position affected her.

Londyn Skye's The Prodigy Slave, Book One: Journey to Winter Garden is a book that deals with societal themes, relationships, and interconnections. I believe this book is well worth reading because it has taught me a variety of lessons, particularly about the society we live in. Even if there are some grammatical issues that need to be corrected, I still give this book a perfect 4 out of 4 star rating. William is my favorite character because he exemplifies a generous man eager to save the lives of the underprivileged. Indeed, this book has a lot of potential to be discovered.

I quite enjoyed passionate romance between Lily and James, but I also feel that Lily’s character needed a little more development before jumping into love scenes. I would definitely recommend the book to lovers of the period-romance genre.

The romantic scenarios of the book draws more of my attention . The piano added a mystery to the plot wanting me to read more because i had loved playing piano from being a teenager. The characters were well written,
I'm fascinated with Lily's passion, and full of life attitude, a character that makes romance novels interesting . I have no impression other than the novel was fine for me. I will rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. Basically i love romance novel's and i would surely recommend it to anyone who likes romance novels just like i do.

So I kind of knew what I was getting into with reading this book. It is based in a very different and difficult time. It was difficult to read some of the language and the way the main character was treated. However, despite having enjoyed this book and some of the knowledge it transpired through its words, I can’t help but feel that the way the points of view change or how easily we can go from the present moment to the past are slightly confusing at times. I also felt the book dragged a bit too much, sometimes having a lot of descriptions. This was a very mixed reading for me: on one hand the incredibly detailed and poetic account of Lily’s story is inspiring and heart-warming (and wrenching, too!), almost dreamy, which is sure to make this story unforgettable. However, in the other hand, it develops very slowly, with a pacing that can make one feel as if nothing really happens, easily leading to boredom.

An interesting book in every sense of the word. However the romance story didn't seem to flow naturally. I wasn't feeling it. I would rate the book 3 out of 4.

I truly enjoyed reading this book and it's capriciousness is a feature that enticed me. The merging of history and romance genre is absolute genius. It is well written and the author did an amazing work of properly introducing the characters. I'm anticipating the sequel at the moment hence, I'm giving this book 4 out of 4 stars.

It's unusual for me to say this, but I enjoyed the characters and their development and the develop of their love more than the overall big picture plot storyline. Definitely looking forward to the sequel.

This romance would make a very good movie, having a very interesting, unusual plot and well-carved characters. The hardships that such a couple has to meet, where the woman is a very talented black girl, would be suitable to be shown on the big screen, making it clear that even then black lives mattered sometimes...Sorry if I sound strange, I come from an all-white ex-communist country and cannot even imagine the difficulties they faced.

Lily's love for the piano is heartwarming at most but what made me love this book is it's beautiful plot. A great plot designs an amazing story. My feelings towards James and Lily is neutral although I loved their romance.
