Icon Lily "plays" smartly.

Post by emma darkwah »

Lily really plays her cards smartly from the very beginning when she realizes that her master all this while was her father. She is devastated but she doesn't show it, she finds solace a picks herself up immediately. She turns to piano a source of comfort. She teaches herself to play the piano and she becomes very good at it, she is very reticent as she is able to hide this ability for fourteen years until the nosy master's son; James discovers her deceit. Even though she is punished by James because a slave playing the piano is forbidden, Lily starts her unprecedented journey which dramatically alters her life and influences the lives of thousands, including a powerful man. Regardless of what she faces, Lily is able to push through and conquer life's challenges. The forbidden love of a particular man is questioned, whether his love will be enough to free her from the shackles of slavery. Lily does not lose hope she pushes on to make her life better and not so much like that of a slave.

Indeed her stealth and ability to hide her talent and skill is quite commendable and I do agree that she does play her part smartly.

Lily is a unique character who is able to manouvre herself in different situations. When she learns of James' possessive nature she is able accommodate his negative traits even when she gets a job and is no longer a slave.

I commend her for being able to find not only solace in the piano but also the ability to hide it so well. It is truly fascinating how she was never caught over those many years. Her ability to hear a song and play it more creativity is a true marvel.

Yes I will give it to her she does play her cards smartly even through hard times of slavery and being punished by James for playing the piano is forbidden for slaves. And she still had hoped to make her life better.

Yes, Lily played smartly even though she realize that her master over the years was her father but she didn't show it for once in her actions.

She really is very strong. I do not think I would have played my cards that smartly! My first reaction would have been to freak out, but given that she is from a different time and situation, she definitely could not have done that!

Truly she played her cards smartly. Even after finding out that her master is also her father she still stayed strong and even kept the secret to herself for that long! That is really commendable.

Lily was wise beyond her years. She made calculated moves and was very strategic, keeping her cards close to her chest. She won the hearts of many due to her good heart and deeds. She was definitely smart and I believe she won in the end.

Honestly, these are also some of the things that I adore in Lily. Yes, she did play very smartly and perfectly well-versed. She never gave up after all the hardships she encountered.

Lily who is a little girl is just amazing. She is optimistic always and strong which makes her win the hearts of many. Her piano and how she keeps it tells how organized though young she is.

Lily's character as a smart and talented personality was beautifully orchestrated. I wonder if it would be actually possible to have such talent in real life as she did in the story.

I also believe that she played her cards wisely. I would do the same if I were in such a situation. It made me like her. I always like to have the element of surprise on my side. Lily does too.

Lily is a one-of-a-kind character who can adapt to various situations. When she discovers James' possessive nature, she is able to accept his undesirable attributes even after she obtains an employment as well as is no longer a slave.

It is true that Lily was quite discreet after she found out her master was her father and I also feel it was a great thing for her to have found solace in piano playing even though it was forbidden.
