This is my first book to read in the series. I can't wait to read other books and hopefully encounter characters like Jared.

Thank you for the tip. Surprisingly I read through the book without feeling the need for reading the prequels. However, I will check out the prequels.

I agree with you. This book was enjoyable even without reading the prequels. But since I enjoyed it, I will read the prequels all the same.

I haven't read the prequels of this book. While I think that doing so may help with understanding Totem better, this could easily be a standalone book.

It was the first I read, thanks to OBC, but now I'm looking forward to reading the rest!
I appreciated the fact that I could enjoy the book without having read the others, but I will definitely read it again in sequence with the others. I'm looking forward to what I'll pick up on the second read vs the first.

I haven't read the prequel. The piece can also be read as a standalone but for an easy flow, I suggest the prequels should be read.

I have not read any of them yet, but have Totem on my list to read. After reading all the reviews, I definitely plan on looking into starting at the beginning rather than just jumping into Totem.

The book is fun and okay as a standalone. Though, if one had read the prequels, it would make it more fun reading this third book.

I haven't read the prequels although I would love to. But since the book is very much enjoyable even as a standalone, I'll just do that in my leisure period.

I haven't read the prequels but I think I would actually like to read them. Totem is great as a standalone book. But I feel reading the prequels will make me appreciate some parts better.

Unfortunately, no. I wish I did though. It would have made things easier for me to understand. I would love to read them now, but I don't think I have such time on my hands.

I started the series with Totem, and initially the reader feels a bit lost because this book seems to start in the middle, with unfamiliar characters and settings. It doesn't take all that long to get settled with the new book, but I believe reading the series in order might make it a lot more enjoyable.

I've read the first book and this one and I think the way the author wrote them, they can all be read as standalone. While this is true, it is best to read the books in order

I didn't read the prequels before I read this one. And it was only at the beginning of the book when references were made to something that had happened in the past that I did feel I was missing out something. But the further I read, the better. Eventually, I did enjoy it as a standalone but I believe reading the prequels could have saved my brain some stress.

I haven't read them but i would love to. I felt as if I was missing something when I was the reading the book even though it could be a stand alone.
