Have you read the prequels of this book?

This book, Totem (Strong Heart #3) by Charlie Sheldon, is the third book in the Strong heart series. Have you read the prequels of this book? Do you think this book is also okay as a standalone or things aren't satisfactory without reading all the 3 books?

I feel reading the prequels will make more sense before reading the third part as it is a fantasy adventure sort of genre and the previous books will definitely add to the last one's plot.

I have read Strong Heart 1. The books can be read as standalone books, but I think it would be better to start with the prequels.

I haven't read them, but I feel that reading them will create a great connection and understanding.

I haven't read the prequels either but the way the final book was formatted allowed the reader to still retain a complete understanding of the experience of the previous summer and even allowed the reader to enjoy this book individually. Based on that it feels like each book can be read as a standalone but with the awareness that a continuation of the story does exist.

I haven't read them. There were parts of Totem, especially in the beginning, where I felt like I was missing something by not reading the previous books. For example, the characters would often make references to what happened to Sarah the previous summer, but it wasn't until I got further into the book that I was able to piece together what had happened. I was still able to enjoy this book by itself, but I think reading the prequels would provide more context for this story.

Indeed I have. Quite enjoyed it. I believe when books have sequels it always helps having read them, despite their ability to be stand alone's

I haven't read the Prequels to the Totem but Myra keeps referring to the past that makes you feel that the author missed some information but you realise it was you who missed prior books.

I haven't read the prequels, but I was still able to understand this book on its own. I think reading the prequel would allow you to have a more in depth understanding and closer connection to the characters, but it is not necessary to follow the overall plot.

I have not read the prequels and had the same question in mind. I usually prefer to read books in the sequence they are meant to be read however I wouldn't mind reading this piece if it has no relation to its prequels.

I did not read the prequels, and I think they would have helped with deeper character developments. Besides that though, I felt that it is easily read as a standalone book. There was nothing that I felt was missed out on from the previous books that prevented me from understanding the events happening within this book.

I haven't had the chance to read the prequels but I wish to read them. Perhaps it would make Totem more understandable.

I have read the prequel Adrift. There is a strange sense of mystery and visually engaging plot across all the novels written by the author. Even though the books may not be completely tandem with each other but I believe that the prequels would add a great amount of depth to the story.

I didn't read the prequels of this book. I just read part three. But I didn't feel as my reading was not satisfactory. This book can stand alone. But, according to a few minimum issues reading the prequels is a good thing.
