This book appears to be intriguing enough to hold one's interest. Racism has been for as long as any of us can remember. It is real. The worst part is that the people it distinguishes are the only ones who are aware of it because it is usually camouflaged behind a joke or passed off as a meaningless remark. I liked the uniqueness of this book. While most books address the war that ensued in Vietnam, the author talks about the proceedings of discrimination, which is quite disheartening. The only problem I flagged was the numerous grammatical errors. The writing style is excellent because it relays the message in an unsophisticated language that can easily be understood. It is a worthy read for anyone looking for a non-fiction book addressing social ills, e.g racism.

I loved Billy Springer's simple language in his diction. I also loved how he discussed the actual account of war, rather than just concentrating on the battlefields; something many other films and books focus on. The theme of racism, even in war, also intrigued me a lot.
