The part that made me very emotional was when their ship was attacked and her parents killed

The most heartbreaking scene for me is when Brandy's mother sacrifices herself to keep Brandy safe. I cried my eyes out when read it :(

Events in the book were really touching and flowing. When the Scarlet Mistress died and the final showdown between Brandy and Lomoche was really touching. I could feel her emotions.

The most emotional scene is when the mother died. It really destroyed her own daughter even she took her own life. So tragic.

The death of Brandy's mother was the most touching scene in the book for me. How much a mother loves her child is really understood by her sacrifice. That she died so spectacularly left no doubt that she was also diverting their attention from her daughter.

Reading about the death of a mother makes me quite emotional. Same was for this story. Brandy's mother was a valiant and graceful character and her death made me choke up slightly.

The death of Brandy's Mother, the Scarlet Mistress, was horrific. I am sure it weighed heavily on Brandy. I am sure that image would haunt her for the rest of her life. Revenge perhaps?

Personally the most emotional moment in this book is the death of his mother, it made me feel soo sad for him see his mother die and the pain he pass through.

I believe that the scene where the mother was being killed in front of their child was the most heart-aching scenes of all.

The sacrifice of the mother in front of her daughter breaks the heart. Other scenes could be touching as well but not like that one.

The killing of Brandy's mother knocked me out. It sent shivers down my spine to think that a daughter watched the woman that gave her life being killed.

I believe that Eric's death is the most heart touching event in the book. His death was just too tragic and to top it all the betrayal.

The death of Eric and his wife was so touching. I can't imagine how it feels for a daughter to watch her parents die gruesomely on the same day.

Dan is very good at description. The way he wrote how Brandy's mother was killed in front of her really touched and moved me to tears. I imagined how I would react if I were to be Brandy at that moment.
