I was very interested in why the ship was named The Red Witch but after reading the story I believe it spoke volumes about the owners. For instance, The Morning Star is a perfect name for a ship that brings hope to others. It’s mission was to free people. The author took great consideration when naming everything in the book.

I believe the names in the book give it a fierce and intense feeling that helps me enjoy the book, especially titles like the Red Witch or the Morning Star.

For me, the names didn't affect my enjoyment of the book. But the unique names in the book like Davonte were really remarkable.

It doesn't make the event any less enjoyable for me. However, I would rather have a name that is distinctive and easy to remember, such as Katrina the Starlet Mistress, than a name that is convoluted and unrealistic.

I definitely like when authors use unique (not too unique where I can’t pronounce them) names. If the names are all common or sound/spelling is too alike, I get the characters confused in the beginning and can’t keep them straight. I have seen some of my favorite authors use quite unique names that also have to do with the personality or strengths of the characters which definitely helps in the beginning when trying to un-peel the layers of the characters.

I disagree with you. I really enjoy common names in books; and I don't care for a unique name. Even unique ones that are not too hard to pronounce or spell, sometimes make me feel like the author is trying too hard to make the character memorable. I remember characters with unique talents or hobbies, not names. I really enjoy it when a "John" or "Jill" go on a fun adventure. That makes the story feel more real; it could be anyone on that adventure.

I like names that match the characters' behaviors in the stories like The Plaque and Scarlet Mistress.

I absolutely love a good name in a book. I feel like the characters in this book all had average names for the time, but I loved the names of the ships. I also thought Brandy's parents' nicknames were pretty cool 8)

I think the names and connotations provided by the book make it more interesting as these make the story more descriptive and hence vivid. Names like "The Red Witch" provide more than just a feature, by giving it meaning. I liked that aspect from the book.

For me, it depends on how intricate the names are. If it is a name that is difficult to figure out the pronunciation of the name, it lessens the experience for me since it is more difficult for me to remember each character. It makes me more confused. I enjoyed the names used in this book since it uses easy names to articulate, yet intriguing enough to add to the story.

Peculiar names don't affect my enjoyment of the book. Because the story matters most.

Names definitely have a part in it for me. Not a huge part but it is there. I like seeing unusual names as well. I think for me it gives the book a more creative spin.

The names of the ships are cool names and adds a little attractiveness to the plot.
