I feel the death of Eric really got me, also how Brandy was kicked out was also touchy, but I felt a groin on my throat the way Eric was killed. What scene or event in the book really got to the emotional you.

I was so touched when Captain Joshua stood up for young Davonte when the visiting sailor was harassing her. It was a show of strength and love that broke even racial barriers.

Betrayal being one of the central themes that further the plot, I think Erick's death struck me out. Moreover, killing the mother in full glare of her kid was really emotional, especially with the way Dan vividly narrated the episode.

The scene that got me emotional was when Brand's mother sacrificed herself to keep her daughter safe. She didn't think about herself one bit, but only thought to preserve her beautiful daughter. It shows how deep a mother's love runs.

This was how I felt too ! Imagine watching your mum die knowing that she is doing this to save you. That was truly an emotional scene.

For me, it's her mother being killed in front of her. I still feel pain when I think about it. It's an absolutely cruel thing to do.

My greatest love in this love goes to my mother, as many do. I was saddest by the way she had to watch her mother get murdered with her eyes. I felt her pain. No one should be able to witness such a gruesome act.

For me it was when Brandy's mother hung herself rather than outing her daughter, Brandy. Brandy's life took a sudden, drastic change and she had to push her grief aside and learn how to survive.

I was really touched by the scene between Skinner and Brandy when he revealed that he might be her father. After his taking care of her and their working together for so long it just seemed right.

The most touching event in this book was the death of Eric's wife. It was the one thing that determined the future of Brandy's life.

The most touching moment was to see how Kat sacrificed herself just to keep her daughter safe. Also, the way the captain was betrayed was very emotional.

The scene that got me emotional was when Brandy's uncle, Skinner gave her a medallion, which was owned by her mother. According to him, she never took it off til she died. On the medallion was a picture of Brandy as a little girl. And to think her mother was always hard on her because she hated her.
