He was a weakling, there was nothing special about him. But it was the authors choice to give him such character and I can't dispute that.

The antagonists are very very incompetent. Though that's the way the author wants to portray him, they lack the right actions.

He felt intimidating in the beginning of the book when he turned on the crew, and because of that, I thought he was an imposing villain behind the scenes for a good bit of the book even though he lost his hand. The hook honestly added to the villain image. However, towards the end, I agree that he was very incompetent, and his defeat was incredibly underwhelming. The end of the book and how it treats the final battle is probably my least favorite part of the novel.

Actually, Don Lomoche was very incompetent and a wishy-washy character. The fact that Brandy and her uncle were close by for so long, and the name of their establishment was like a bright billboard that should've given them away, but he couldn't figure it out made him even more incompetent as a villain to me!

From the perspective of the reader, we always demand more action from the protagonist. But in this, I couldn’t see that from the protagonist. Maybe that’s the way the author wants to portray them.

I thought the antagonist was weak and had no backbone. He always made others do his dirty work.

I think it was a little too easy for the good guys to win against such weak villains. However, their defining traits weren't their strength in fighting, rather, their insanity. Young redheaded girls being tortured because of hatred towards Brandy is psychopathic and creepy, so I think that's where the villains' strengths lie.

When am reading a book or watching a movie, I expect much from the antagonist. But Don Lomoche was weak and incomptent. He always gave up without trying and some of his actions were sometimes annoying.

I agree that the antagonist was weak and didn't play the villain game to its full potential. This could be owing to the author's style, as his main characters appeared to be intoxicated the most of the time.

I had high hopes for this character, but he turned out to be a wimp who couldn't even stand his ground.

The antagonist seemed incompetent and weak. He was just drunk on power

I think the author intended his character that way. a villain is supposed to oppose the protagonist and act cruel and in this case, Don Lomoches's character was weak.

Yes! Don Lomoche was a joke. It was almost cartoonish how hard he tried to be a bad guy, but was always foiled :lol2:

A villain's defeat should not be easy to justify as was the case with Don. His role was too easily combated and that made his character too stereotypical. His role would have had more complexity and uniqueness.

The antagonists were pathetic. The Don and his fellows were far from a formidable force. Then again, perhaps this was the aim of the author.
