Many of the concepts in the book, like "the Intruder" and "calling an MD" and "poisonality" just came to me. Abu inquired into this. When I was in flow, with nowhere to go but up... like lightening out of the blue - bingo - another one of my "authorisms" popped into my consciousness. That kind of thing happens to me when I look at myself, in life, like a "possibility," rather than looking at myself nervously, and looking at life like it's a problem to be solved. Very different attitude, I find, and it gives me very different outcomes. I am much more creative in all arenas of living. Thank you for allowing me to participate in this forum with you :) Rob

In my book, I hope I made it clear that we are all a product of the culture into which we are born (family culture, ethnic culture, religious culture etc), and if the conversations of those cultures tended to limit us, then it is up to us to do something about it.

Always, it is what you are saying to yourself about yourself that has the biggest impact on what you are doing with your life. The philosophy that I reveal in my book came from many everyday, ordinary, unassuming gurus (folks just like you), who passed my way and offered a tip of great value.

A young child once told me that "she good do anything she wanted to do when she grew up." And she meant it. She was five. I could see the truth in what she was saying, and even today, when things seem to be going awry, I allow that memory to remind me of 'that same fact' about me. Thank you, for inquiring deeper into my psyche. It helps you to understand your own psyche, aye? :) Rob

Lydia ask, "If any time in my life I wasn't who I thought I was?" ... and ... Tebogo asks, "What advice might I give beginners?" Might I answer both questions this way: Don't immediately take sides with your own opinions of yourself. I say that because the odds are that many of your opinions are flawed. Those flawed opinions are the ones that have you feeling flawed. Oh, how deep we can go down the rabbit hole :)

Feeling flawed, in one way or another, is simply how human being are thrown to be, so don't take it so seriously. We all hear 60,000 NOs during our childhood rearing, so it is impossible not to feel we are flawed to some extent, aye? However, that does not mean you have to live with that feeling and have it influence you with everything new that you do.

Many, many times in my life I found I was "not" who I thought I was. How else am I to grow? That is essential to having a breakthrough to a fresh and new me. The secret to dealing with this situation is to let the strain, of being confused about myself, go. This is what I would tell someone who is just now beginning to investigate this topic. You can profitably observe yourself in a way that ends feeling strained when you get caught up in that "other self" that insists you are flawed. The secret is to be aware of yourself like there are two you's. There's the authentic you - The Maestro - plenty able to make your dreams come true... and there's that other self, the unwanted mental house guest, the great pretender - the Intruder - that has you feeling strained. Just knowing that, and knowing that "other self" is a big phony... just knowing these two things immediately begins to drain the draining-energy that "feeling strained" imposes on you. Now things begin to happen in your favor.

Thank you for your questions, all of you ... :) Rob

Every master was once a student.
My question to the Author;
I would love to know, who's the people that inspires you? Be it authors, public figures or literally anyone!

As I ponder further those who have had an impact on my book, my grandfather comes to mind.

When I was five, and helped him with his vegetable garden, I asked him, "What's my reward for helping you gramp?"

He looked at me for a moment and then said, "The real reward, Bobby, is that you and I get to work together."

For some reason I half remembered that, until lately. That piece of wisdom is another reason I wrote the book. The book creates a clearing so you (the reader) and I get to have a conversation together. That's one of the rewards for me :)

I was wondering if the author utilized allusion at all in this book? It feels as though certain scenes and details could be used to subtly refer to common themes in some of the classics, was that intentional in any way?

The more I ponder your question, Ozoab, the more I realize that so so many people inspired me to write this book. And many that inspired me were everyday, ordinary, unassuming gurus who briefly passed my way. Hence I really never did establish a long term relationship with them.

An example would be when I was in my late teens I remember saying something arrogant to a store clerk, and he looked me right in the eyes and said, "It's easy to see straight through your hypocrisy." It took me a few years to figure out what he meant, but his lesson did sink in, and it is in my book.

The lesson being: "If I am willing to look directly at my own reactions, I will spot when the Intruder is expressing through me. And as a rule, others spot my Intruder reacting through me, much quicker than I do."

Thanks for helping me look deeper into this matter :) Rob

Thank you for this inspiring piece. When did you realize that there was an imposter in everyone? What was your first reaction to it?

by Kenneth Ernest » 06 May 2022, 14:49 ... On which major theme was the book written? ... How is the book important to the people?

The principle theme in my book, Kenneth, is the fact that are two selves we deal with – the authentic self and the “other self.” And it seems that no human being is able to escape experiencing those two selves. Furthermore, it's with learning how to handle that "other self" - the Intruder - that we are able to relax and allow the authentic self - The Maestro - to shine through. This is the main challenge for every member of the human family so each may grow and add to the evolution of all of humanity.

This book is important to everyone because it helps everyone become more aware of "the self that they are NOT, that they think they are," so they can create the space to be "the self that they TRULY ARE, which they've pretty much forgotten all about."

:) Thank you for these questions, Rob

I will like to ask Rob White what inspired this book? The book is loaded with wisdom and that made me ask the question.
