When I was in elementary school I complained to my teacher that the student sitting next to me was too noisy. She looked at me and smiled, then she said, "He is that way because he thinks he has to be." It's funny, but what she said didn't make sense to me, and yet I remembered the statement all of my life. Why? Well, she was pointing to the student's Intruder, and to the fact that he pays attention to what this unwanted mental house guest has to say, which is, "Be noisy so you can get attention." That student didn't know there was any other option, as your statement points out Thank you Rob
