You can't be free if you're not a master of yourself..
This is impossible..
You need to pilot your own life by your personal decisions

No. One must first control himself and be able to control what can and cannot affect him. Then, he becomes a true master.

No, a man can't be free if he is not a master of himself. The common man is held by a lot of shackles in his society. It takes a lot of mastery to maintain normalcy and feel free despite situations.

You definitely can't be free without overcoming yourself. How can you be free if you are a slave to your emotions? You don't have to put your ego into these things. You can realize your situation yourself if you are honest with yourself. And I believe that business situations should not be included in this, because the business terminology is different.

This is a simple one. A man who hasn’t mastered himself can be lucky enough to fall into the right position in life where he is free. And even when a person has mastered themselves, they still need to make effort to be free. A man who has mastered himself but is too lazy to do what is necessary will remain wherever he is no matter how much he masters himself and or the people around him. So, I strongly disagree with this quote.

When is a man free? When he is so involved in the daily routine that he does not realize his real goals and desires? Not in my opinion! A man is truly free when he knows himself and knows what he really wants, that is, he is his own maestro.

You can never be free if you are not a master of yourself. This is because, you will always bend to pressure and follow crowds. Thus, one will be a slave to the various pressures, As the saying goes, " If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything".

The quote by Epicetus is not referring to employment. It is talking about personal discipline and self-control which is necessary for mental freedom.

Definitely not. Lack of freedom over one's time and schedule means the person is not truly free yet. That is why I also prefer self employement.

I think being a master is not important. It’s the ability to own your flaws and work on them to be better. Be fair in your judgement of yourself. Only you are able to limit your capabilities.

A man can be free even if he is not yet a master of himself, but in the context of success and stability, most people prefer to be independent because they feel it's preferable that way.

No. If you are not a master of you self it means you are yet to know whom you are. Until you know whom you are there is no reason to loosen up yourself

No. I believe not. A man needs to master himself first. Otherwise he will still have intruders. One can not function at maximum potential if they are still held back by intruders.

Being your own boss even offers more financial security. These days, Yes, people are more reluctant to work under someone else. That's when you become your own master, business wise though.

Is it because we should hone ourselves first and be an associate before becoming the boss. Our main paraphernalia is our wisdom and skills necessary to optimize the workforce. We cannot be an executive one day. Hence, we should work for others first.
