For me it doesnt matter, the story is what is important, having that amazing time only to myself. Books are amazing in any format.

I read a paper book this morning at the blood center as I was donating. The other donors around me, all of whom were watching video on their phones, looked at me as though I were a space alien. I rather enjoyed it. I felt like I was from the old school!

Great topic!

I totally agree! reading is reading, there's no competition, no side better than the other. Both are wonderful and depending on my mood, either will serve the purpose. I love that you made this point and honestly, it should be talked about more. Time to normalize this!

I don't agree. There's something about thumbing through the pages in a book or the smell of a brand new book or an old one that gets me. E-books can never recreate that. I'm willing to try audiobooks though. So I'm not entirely set in my ways.

The number of books one has read—whether on paper or in an electronic reader—remains irrelevant, therefore it need not be a contest. The fact that you usually continue to learn new things as long as you turn those pages is the most significant factor.

I agree! I recently got a Kindle and I love it, but paperbacks will always hold a special place in my heart. I have decided that if I read something on my Kindle that I can't live without, I will buy it as a physical copy to have and be able to pass down to my children. I also listen to audiobooks, and I still count them towards my reading goal.

I completely agree with you—whether it’s eBooks, physical books, or audiobooks, the joy of reading is what truly matters. Audible audiobooks are a great addition to your reading repertoire, too. They’re perfect for multitasking or just relaxing while you listen.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. Also, keep in mind that people have different learning styles. Meaning, what works for 1 person, doesn't always reign true for ALL. What you prefer, is your perogative. Please don't try and impose your will on others. Learn what they "need" in order to learn, and adapt to that.

It works much better this way.

I agree! I love audio books for car rides, working in my garden or other tasks where I can listen and do things. Folding laundry is MUCH more enjoyable when I can listen to a great booK!
