I don't know if it's snobbish, but I don't like anything Apple.tdkcarpenoctem wrote:I can look at magazines, books, or movies when I'm not online! I think the kindle is AWESOME! Great versatility! I would recommend this to anyone on a budget, but I'm working on getting an iPad.

DO ereaders tend to have sound? I also want to load audiobooks onto it. If his dyslexia testing finds a result, then I know that I can use LearningAlly to get audiobooks.
Hi, not sure about other readers but Sony PRS T1 has sound and your son can enjoy audiobooks on it. Browse about it and you'll get more info.. But I'm 200% sure it has sound. also check for Kindle Keyboard. Its old though. And PRS T1 is comparatively new.

For someone who doesn't read a lot in general then it might not be worth it, but then again it might offer more opportunities to read.

I love my e-reader. I read so much that it's handy to have a small, compact, portable device that can store thousands of books. If you like to read a lot I would definitely invest in one. If not, maybe just stick to a library membership. Also, I enjoy the paperink displays, look into that. I do not like reading a LCD display, it hurts my eyes after awhile.
