I don't know if it's snobbish, but I don't like anything Apple.

I have an iPad, this allows me to ha e both NOOK and Kindle Aps. I love both, it is so convent to put my iPad in my bag, and always have access to a book/bookstore. It is great for trips, bring the iPad instead of three or four books, also no more lost pages, it will bookmark your page.

THere can be advantages to getting an e-reader; one is carrying 500 books at once, another is free books without buying and keeping them :D and no one can tell if you're reading something steamy or not.

My son is being allowed to bring technology into his reading class. I think that I would like to get him an ereader at the very least, but preferable a tablet. DO ereaders tend to have sound? I also want to load audiobooks onto it. If his dyslexia testing finds a result, then I know that I can use LearningAlly to get audiobooks.

Hi, not sure about other readers but Sony PRS T1 has sound and your son can enjoy audiobooks on it. Browse about it and you'll get more info.. But I'm 200% sure it has sound. also check for Kindle Keyboard. Its old though. And PRS T1 is comparatively new. :)

I think that it is worth it for someone who reads a lot of books, so they will use the ebook reader.
For someone who doesn't read a lot in general then it might not be worth it, but then again it might offer more opportunities to read.

I absolutely love my Kindle. I constantly find myself running out of shelf space in my house and an e-reader is absolutely brilliant for things like that. Granted, nothing will completely replace the thrilling sensation of opening up some dusty old tome or perhaps a newer modern novel but regardless. I love reading and frequently make visits to the local library but my dilemma is: What happens when no one has the book you're looking for? Sure, I could order online and get it shipped in a few days but with an e-reader the transition is nearly instantaneous. And most times cheaper, too.

Yes and no. Depending on how you are about paperback/hardcover books an E-Reader is a good way to have all your books on-the-go.

Yes, I think it is definitely worth investing. Amazon has a ton of free ebooks and some are offered for only a day or two so it's constantly changing.

In my opinion: ABSOLUTELY!

I love my e-reader. I read so much that it's handy to have a small, compact, portable device that can store thousands of books. If you like to read a lot I would definitely invest in one. If not, maybe just stick to a library membership. Also, I enjoy the paperink displays, look into that. I do not like reading a LCD display, it hurts my eyes after awhile.

It depends on what ebook reader you get. There are some that are terrible especially if you want to be able to read them in different environments not just in your home. But they have more recent ones that are really good and made to read outside or inside.

I resisted for the longest time, preferring the feel of a physical book in my hands. I have now started to read ebooks on my tablet using the kindle app and I love it. It is so convenient, especially if you are travelling. I can carry a library around with me. I also love that it tells me how what percentage of the book I have completed

Reading thru electronic devices over a physical book is a matter of preference. Times are changing and there will come a time that everyone will have access to digital readers. For a bookworm like myself, i prefer to have my books available in digital format for convenience. Imagine having a few or a hundred titles of your favorite books accessible with one click instead of physically carrying books inside your purse. Although i still buy physical books from time to time, my tablet full of books is like a security blanket that i have books to read anytime, anywhere.
