Before being a "writer", I was a very, very avid reader. I think it just naturally transitioned for me as I realized, hey, I don't like this on the book so what if I could just change it. I began writing fanfiction, and then I wrote my own fiction. I never stopped reading, though, as it just helped to see what I found worked and what I found didn't really work. It also motivated me whenever I read a very good book that hit me straight in the feels because that was the goal I wanted to achieve - to write something that would stirr something in people.
