I have a Kindle, and have over 200 books on my tablet. The majority of them were free or $0.99 because the Kindle store has amazing deals! I highly recommend it.

I use my kindle fire tablet. It's affordable and perfect to use for reading ebooks ?. Especially since it is made by Amazon and Amazon has taken over the digital publishing industry.

Most libraries have Overdrive now, which lets you check out ebooks. I like it better than actual books from the library because the due date arrives, the ebook automatically "returns" itself and so I don't have to worry about library fines. There are a lot of decent free ebooks out there as well.

When you have a Kindle reader app on whatever device you have, you can download a lot of books for free on a weekly basis while other books cost anywhere from a few cents up to $10. It all depends on what type of book you're reading preferences are.
But IMHO, just being a member of this venerable Online BookClub can get you free EBooks on a daily basis.
Just follow our admin Scott Hughes and get free books from him. Our Club also gives away free books every now and then. So you don't have to buy them! Just remember to visit this site everyday. LoL!!! :D
And did I mention that our Club has that $25 Amazon gift card giveaway contest? Is it good or what? :tiphat:

The books on Kindle often have low prices ranging from 1-3 US dollars. If you want something free, try libgen.

Buying your favorite book—or maybe the one you've been dying to read—might set you back a few bucks if you're not the kind of person who reads free novels on Kindles. It's really inexpensive, ranging from $3 to $10 or more, and not as pricey as what I would consider buying from a book store outside of my house.

What is the cost of books? Well, buying ebooks on the Amazon Kindle isn't all that costly. The price range for books that you buy yourself is from $5 to $17. Just have your card information close at hand to facilitate manipulation.

I get ebooks from my library and so they are free. I read them on my kindle. If your library uses Libby, it's fast and easy. The only ones I pay for are those here where I need to leave a review.

I know it has been a bit since the original post. However, I have recently discovered Libby and am in love. It's all joy of getting a new book- without the cost! There are both audiobooks and ebooks that you can borrow if they are available at your library. It makes it easy to keep track of your books, (makes them portable!) and they return on their own when the loaning period is up.

My favorite e-reader has been my kindle paperwhite, but the reader I use the most is actually my phone! I always have it with me and can pull out my book whenever the situation allows for it. :)

With bookshop.org you can choose a local bookstore to receive a portion of the funds from your purchase of an ebook. It helps keep local brick and mortar stores open and the ebooks are pretty affordable.

I would recommend a KINDLE. There are not very bulky (you can put them in your shoulder bag) and they are not pricey. A 2GB model can hold hundreds of books. You can buy e-books for as low as 0.99 and AMAZON offer sales now and then for some e-books and e-magazines.
