I have a Kindle mainly because my boyfriend got it for me. I will always say that I will always love having an actual book to read instead of the e books on the Kindle. The whole space needed for Kindle books over what physical book needs is why I feel that it is necessary when read many books in a short time happens frequently.

I have the kindle fire. At first I picked the kindle because I didn't like the orginal nooks layout. But after seeing both my friend has the nook hd or whatever there tablet version is I wish I had gotten that mostly because it has more space. I wanted the kindle as a fancy e-reader and then wanted an actual tablet as I got used to my kindle. I still love my kindle just wish it had more space.

I have a nook as of right now but I am looking to switch when I get enough money saved up to get the kindle. Every nook I have had has busted on me on some level and freeze on me. I have heard nothing but good things about the kindle as for all the books I have on my nook so that is why I have decided to switch although as a member of Barns and noble I am still going to stay one just because they do have great prices on books and where I live we have the stores around here. there ereader in my Opinion just are not made well. I was able to switch over have of them over to the kindle app just because most of them I own are all freebies as well so it I am not worried about losing my books :/

I personally am a huge fan of kindle. I never really thought it mattered much until I bought my three children Nooks one year for Christmas. My Kindle has lasted years ( I have a first edition) and I have only had one issue and even though the warranty was up Amazon sent me a replacement anyways. They are always treated us really good and between Kindle prime and unlimited we save so much money. We noticed that things on the Kindle that were free were not on the Nook. An example of this would be I had a game on my Kindle that the kids wanted on their Nook. When we looked it up it was $.99 on theirs on the Kindle it was free the bad part about that was the fact that the name of the game was "Where's my Water-Free".

I currently have an IPAD mini. I started originally with the Nook and have had 2 different versions. However when it was time to replace I bought the IPAD because you can download the Nook, Kindle, and Ibook apps for free. You can also check out e books at the library with the Kindle app. This makes the IPAD the most versatile.

I received a NOOK as a christmas present a couple of years ago. I lost it when I moved but now read on my phone through the nook app. I have hundreads of books I have read and I'm so glad to be a ebook reader. Its so covenient to get a book at the click of a button. I stay with nook because I have all my books here. My daughter has a kindle and I enjoy purchasing items from Amazon, I don't have a computer and use her kindle often. I did find my nook recently, but I still tent to use my nook app on my Android phone.

I bought myself the Kindle paperwhite as a birthday present. My friend warned me against the Kindle e-reader as hers kept glitching and she wasn't happy with it. I love my Kindle. Its affordable and very convenient. I thought about the Kindle Fire but decided that I wanted something just for books and reading.

A rather interesting question is posed here. Both Nooks and Kindles do have their merits. First, we must examine the basis of this question. 'Should I get an e-reader?' Rather, 'Why do you have an e-reader, and why should I/should I not get an e-reader?’ Well it really boils down to how you live your life. Let us consider this a little. You are a businessperson. You are always on the go, and are constantly going to meetings and the like. You have little time spared in your life, but you catch the train to and from work every day. It is a 2-hour commute, both ways. If this were you, I would fully recommend an e-reader of any sort. They are light, take up little space, and provide you with a means to continue sharpening that mind of yours. Paper books would just be impractical. However, on the flip side, if you work from home, and do say, audio-transcriptions, I would go for paper books. You are at home, don't have to carry things around, so why not? Then again, you might live in an apartment. So limited space. You also happen to be a student, limited money. Paper books would be impractical wouldn't they? They take up space, and cost more. See what I mean that it depends on your lifestyle, to what would suit you? It depends on your taste as well. If you don't like technology, just stick with paper. Remember, you can always do both.

Now that we have examined the question behind the question, let us look at the actual question. I have a Nook, and am very happy with it. I love paper books, and never wanted to give them up, but the e-reader does have its merits. Especially one with an e-ink screen. It is much more akin to reading a book, than an iPad, or any other fancy tablet could replicate. Does not hurt my eyes, and generally makes reading a pleasant experience, in comparison to many other e-readers or tablets. There are many free classic books that you can get, and the books are substantially cheaper. I got it simply because it was on sale, but it has actually been an investment that I do not regret. Yet, I would still choose paper books any day. I love the feel of turning the pages, to feel the book beneath my fingers. Sometimes, as good as something is, it still does not quite suit you.

I have a Nook. I have had the Nook for 3 years and have gotten my money's worth from it. However, I prefer the actual books over the electronic ones but I love the ability to store more books than my arms can carry in one convenient place. My most favorite books I buy both an electronic version and the physical book. I like to have backups. (I'm a computer nerd, backups are important).

If the electricity goes out during a storm at night, eReaders come in handy. During the day just lounging around, the book form is more comfortable.
"Without books as our anchors, we are cast adrift, neither teaching nor learning. They are windows on the past, mirrors on the present, and prisms reflected all possible futures. Books are lighthouses erected on the dark sea of time.”

I have a lovely old kindle and I have never had a problem with it. I initially got it to save money on books and to save space because I haf to travel very far to work. I am also an avid amazon user but I have now, due to lifestyle changes, changed to buying mostly normal paper books as I am slowly putting together a home library.

I have a Kindle ereader, Kindle Fire, and iPad. I use them all, but I probably use the iPad the most. I installed the Kindle app on my iPad, and all the devices synch, so I can pick up any one of them and pick up where I left off reading, regardless of which I used last.

I have a kindle Fire 1st edition, and I have to say I am IN LOVE with my kindle. I asked for it for Christmas and surprisingly my parents came through! I have used my friends nooks a couple of times and honestly I have such a hard time don't understand how they work and I like the fact that the kindle has adjustable screen brightness. Plus amazon has such a wide variety of books and their free kindle book section is amazing!

I have a Kindle. I just recently found it actually stashed away in an empty dresser in an extra room. I got it several years ago (maybe 4) for Christmas. I love having all my books in one place but I would much rather hold and read an actual book. I guess that's why I have been contemplating selling it. Not sure.
