An ebook cannot be read when it dies and you have no power to charge it, a book works ALL THE TIME. And it has been read by many, when you hold it you can imagine and feel the other readers who have experienced it. There is nothing special about holding your kindle.

I would rather have a paper book. I enjoy seeing where I am in the book and feeling the pages and book in my hand.

And I would further add if you read books on a tablet you also need internet to be able to read which makes a tablet nothing more than an expensive paperweight most of the time.

In my opinion reading directly from the physical book makes more sense as well as knowledgeable all the time. It is ready reckoner for all the time. Reading and writing makes a person more knowledgeable and informative than e book reading. It is something psychological too

I love my kindle. It lets me read in situations where I wouldn't otherwise be able. However, there isn't a battery on an actual book. A lot of times when I read, I read for hours on end. I get THAT into books. With a kindle, unless you're plugged in, you can't do that.

I prefer paper books, but they take up to much space. I like my kindle because of the many free books on Amazon. I've only read a few paper books since receiving the kindle. I like that the text size can be changed as well.

Ebooks are what I love. On Android devices with Google's Books app you can highlight, take notes, and bookmark just like any other book. Then it adds searchability on top which is great for finding notes, etc. This makes ebooks great for class too. Finally, I enjoy being able to carry all my books with me at once and have access to millions of others at a moments notice.

Physical books all the way!

I have tried using my iPad to read books, but it's not even remotely close to read a "normal" book. The feeling is different; it's more clinical, in my opinion. I will, however, tell you that e-readers are useful when eating food - you don't need to hold a book and can change turn the pages with a finger. So I do use my iPad for reading, but no more than once a week, if that.

It was tough to leave the paper books behind, but I got used to it. Plus, the price of ebooks is so much more manageable than paper. That alone is a reason to switch.

A book works most of the time, but not all the time. You still need a light source, and while many of us do have access to constant electricity or easy access to fire in extreme cases, some people don't and thus could not necessarily read a paper book at night.

You do no need internet access to read books on a tablet if you store the book file on the tablet itself, which is the normal thing to do. What eBook reader / app "streams" books instead of stores them locally? I haven't heard of one.

I love paper books, but I feel the need to defend eBooks against a lot of misinformation and bias that goes on.

I have 215 books on my Ipad from the last 2 years, now I am having some regrets, especially if it is the newest book from an author I have collected. So... I have switched back to buying paper copies of ones for my library and ebooks for 'quick' reads. I will go back and buy 2nd hand copies of the best of my ebooks for my shelves I think. I do love my ipad though, although, I find at night reading it makes my eyes get tired quicker than with a paper book.

I have both, an reader and paper books, I like both. Convenience of the ereader and the smell and feel of a paper book.

I have to say both. The e-reader adds convenience for me at times, especially when traveling. But I must agree there's nothing like curling up with a good book & feeling the pages between my fingers. Not to mention sometimes when I've been reading with the e-reader for a while I get a headache. I still read books that are hardback & paperback. But there are times that I go with the e-reader.
