Hi Dear Friends,

I personally read paperback faster than an e-book. I don't exactly know why, :?: but i think reading paperback is something else.

Regards,
Zahra

E-books may take longer, in part because I often have to double back to reread something. In an e-book, it's often hard to find a passage, unless you use the search function, but it doesn't always work if you don't remember the section exactly.

Paperback, definitely. I struggle to read on a screen for long periods of time. For instance I once read for 23 hours straight (I didn't even get up to eat or drink) and finished three books. But it would have taken me 23 hours with hour long breaks every two hours or so, to read one e-book.
So many books to read, so little time..

I read faster on my Kindle/Nook because I read it ad night. With a physical book, I can't read it at night (when it's dark) and sneak it under my bed. I still prefer the book because I'm building up my collection.

I will read an actual book much faster then an ebook. For some reason I just fly threw it. I also read for much longer. I think the light projected by an ebook eventually hurts my eyes and I decide to stop reading. Now keep in mind that I tend to read for hours at a time so for longer reading I do enjoy my paper book.

I have been a voracious reader since I was two years old. I have always read paperback, with the obvious exception of time spent online reading sites, articles, etc.. I have always been a fast reader, coming it at nearly 1,000 wpm, according to a couple tests. That being said, I was just gifted a Nook GlowLight for the holidays. I was skeptical at first, as nothing really beats the pleasure from reading a tangible book. However, I noticed my eyes did not get tired as quickly while reading on that platform.

I haven't noticed a difference as far as reading goes. You can at least in the dark. But the one thing that I don't like about my kindle is that I like to have the book on the shelf when I'm done reading and with the kindle it's in the cloud.

I can read fast on both. However, I prefer the actual book. There is something about turning the pages in an exciting story.

For the most part I am good with both. The one thing that I don't like about e-books is some of them don't have sensitive enough touch screens so you sit there and swipe, and swipe, and swipe; trying to turn the page and it just won't cooperate.
On the other hand it is very convenient to have a multiple titles on a single light-weight device instead of having to haul a bunch of books around with you. I love real books but boy are they heavy.

I'm oldschool. I love holding a book and physically flipping the pages. I like to bend the book and doggy-ear pages, sometimes scribbling short notes on them. Definitely paperback on multiple accounts.

I actually read both at the same speed. I have always been an avid reader and no matter the kind of book I read fast. I tend to lean more towards ebook because I can get the book on release day but either or works for me for the speed of reading.

I usually take my time when it comes to an E-book. On average it takes me about a week to read an E- book , but it usually takes me about three days on average to read a paper back book.

Paperback definintely. I read most ebooks on my computer and I am too easily distracted by other things when I'm sitting at my computer. When I'm sitting with a book, I'm focused on the story.....not distracted by email, messages, etc.

i don't find a difference between the format, but I do tend to read e-books faster simply because I always have my kindle with me.

While I enjoy both formats I do like that on a eReader I do not have a bedside lamp lighting the entire room and they are more portable. I do a lot of reading on the go. So the eReader really works for me.
