I suggest that we just get rid of all cars. 8)

I only get motion sick if the book is 'dense'. Something about my brain putting in that extra effort makes me nauseous lol.

I've heard gum, looking out the window occasionally and also reading an ebook will help reduce some of the problems (something about the screen of an ebook making it easier to adapt to the moving environment).

I've also heard of people who have trained themselves to just move past it by doing it for short bursts over long periods of time. Basically making themselves immune over time. I'm not an expert by any means, but you might give it a try.

Good luck, and good reading!

When I was younger, I could read for hours in a car without problem. As I grew older, I started feeling a bit sick, but I realized it's easier for me to read on my Kindle than to read a real book, while in motion.

I get horribly nauseous if I try to read in car. I feel for anyone who has the same problem.

I've been reading these posts to see if I could find any suggestions that I haven't heard of yet, but I've tried them all and nothing has worked yet. I wish I could spend the time reading in a car on long distance trips but instead I've just learned to enjoy the scenery. I've tried the audio books too but for some reason they just put me to sleep, or I get distracted by something and then realize that the book is still going on and I've missed about five minutes of whatever happened in the story.

Can barely even look at my phone or read directions to someone, much less read a book.

I get sick instantly if I try to read in the car. I can't even read a map or directions without feeling awful. Someone once told me, if you hold what you're reading up so you have to tilt your head back it helps keep you from getting sick.

Ever since I was little this has plagues me and I despise it. All you can do is try to move the front and look out the window as often as possible mix with a half dose of Dramamine.

Hi,
I love reading but being stuck in a car and just sitting there is horrible. I look at the book read the cover and am already sick. Wish someone could solve the problem. I have a lot of free time in the car when I could be reading!

I didn't used to get car sick until recently. I have found that I can read for about 30 minutes then have to stop and refocus. After that, I can go back to reading for a short time.

Yes, I noticed in high school that I would get nauseous if I tried to read on the school bus for more than a few minutes. I've never found a solution to this problem. The person who comes up with a remedy for this will become a millionaire.
