I had a block about reading anything online since teachers started requiring these things in college many years ago, before 'readers'. Once a block is inserted in my brain, it is hard to remove. I have a LARGE block for e-books! So, if I have to sit down to one, and scroll back and forth to read one sentence, you will lose my interest and I won't read it. Doesn't matter if it is an electronic love letter from George Clooney. Paperback books are what I was raised on reading, and I will continue to read these as long as we have trees to produce them.
and of course, i read paperbacks much faster! i thought the question was 'which do you prefer'.

I read eBooks faster since I'm less likely to go back and reread chapters if I want to look up something that happened earlier in the book. For some reason, I have a harder time finding earlier passages in electronic books than paper. But I love having my entire library with me when I travel which I do often for my job. So, will never give up my Kindle app on the iPad!

I find that it is easier to read in paperback format. I am currently using an ereader on android to read and I find that this tires the eyes. I have borrowed and used kindle once and really liked it but did not proceed with acquiring one yet.

I read so much faster on my kindle than I do with a regular book. I've always been a fast reader, but at times I feel like a speed reader when reading electronically. :D

I definitely read e-books faster. I love reading a printed book and can read them pretty quick most of the time, I have found that I tend to read e-books faster. Plus, as much as I might hate to admit it, e-books and e-book readers are much more convenient more times than not, especially if I'm going on a trip. I have a whole library with me, and getting another book instantly can be achieved after just a few clicks.

What!? I am literally shocked that most of you read paperbacks faster! My mind is blown! I am a huge advocate for the Kindle. I absolutely think I read faster with a Kindle and in their marketing ads, they specifically state that screen is made for your eyes to be able to read faster.

Plus, a real book requires two hands and turning the pages! By the time I'm on the last line of a page on Kindle, I've already pressed the next page button and my eyes are already drifting to the top of the new page, without having to move my hands ect. Backlights on ipads make our eyes tired faster, and adjusting pages in real books to the light in the room or sunlight outside is stress on our eyes.

There is no glare on the kindle screen :)

Oh, and best of all, when you finish one book and LOVED it so much you're already dying to start the next book in series; all you have to do is push a few buttons and BAM! There it is, ready to read on your screen! No driving to bookstores or anything!

    Amazon Kindle, I love you!!

I guess I never made a distinction of which I read faster, I would have to say probably a paperback. I do like ebooks but I am old fashioned and like the feel of a print book. I also like to have print books in my many bookcases in the house.

I read from both at about the same pace but I still prefer reading a paperback, nothing can compete with the feel and smell of a great book in your hands.

I think I'm be of the few that reads the ereader faster. I don't have to,waste the time to turn the pages and its easier to not lose my page with the ereader. I also prefer the fonts, I can adjust them for easier viewing depending on my eyes.

I feel as if I read faster with a physical copy of a book just because I can look to see how much I have until the next chapter or the end of the book, where as with an e-reader or my phone I don't have that.

It seems like I am in the minority here, but I also read faster on my Kindle. The trick, I've found, is to change the size of the text which makes it easier for your eyes to take in the text - something you obviously can't do in physical book

I have always been a great reader, fast and accurate. My husband bought me a Nook for Mother's Day and I love it. I can read so much faster and with just a simple click of my finger on the screen or a swipe across the screen I can turn the page, lessening time and effort ;) Also an e-reader is smaller than a typical book so it takes up less room, whether in my purse or "going out for the day" bag.
I am torn though because I do love actual books. I end up buying one every time I go to the store! I love the appearance of my books accumulating on my bookshelf. It makes me feel accomplished! My dream is to have a room with just books and bookshelves, my own library! :)
I love both ways of reading and will continue to utilize both options at my disposal! ❤️
