I think so. Paperbacks can be so heavy and I like how with e-books your library is compacted onto one single device.

I think that ebooks will eventually replace most paper books. They are much more convenient and save space. Quicker and cheaper to make and distribute also.

I love my nook. I really enjoy reading before bed and with my nook i can keep the lights off and not wake up my girlfriend. Another thing i love about my nook is being able to look up words that i am not familiar with. This being said i have close to 100 books that i will keep forever. I like that my kids are getting older and can go to my office and pick out a book. I do believe that ebooks will replace paperback but it will be a sad day when that happens.

I hope not! I have a Nook and I love it. But I love owning traditional books as well. I collect certain books and its a completely different feeling for me, purchasing a traditional book. At this point I've stopped, for the most part, purchasing books on my Nook. I use it now mostly for reviewing or receiving free books. I've realized that I would like to have a large library and I would rather but traditional books to have and pass on. It's the traditionalist in me. I'm not getting rid of my Nook, but I'm not abandoning traditional books either. I am trying to find the perfect place in the middle.
All I need is a new book and a place to read it...

Nope. Not in a million years! I do enjoy reading some online and on a tablet, but I love holding a beautiful book in my hands, nothing can compare. The smell, the feeling of it your hands, the texture of the pages beneath your fingertips...so many reasons why books will always be there.

I have only been recently reading books on my phone. It's actually very convenient, and I was amazed at how much quicker my reading speed progressed. It has a tracker, you see, and having mild OCD (Hahaha!) might have triggered the addiction to e-reading. This is not to say I've stopped liking paperbacks, because quite honestly I am obsessed with them and would so prefer to have an actual, physical book complete with texture and scent and feel its weight in my hands, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. I want to read books, but with paperbacks I get sleepy. Somehow, reading it on a mobile phone makes it feel as though I'm just reading a text message (which I don't plenty of, to be honest). It's a weird little compromise, but it works for me. As long as I get to keep reading without falling asleep, I'm good.

I think both have their place. I love using my iPad on the go, because it's so convenient. It's nice to be able to carry around a library I your backpack. On the other hand, it is extremely difficult for me to study on the iPad. Hard copies have been nice for school because of the ease in taking notes.

E Books are convenient and portable! I still love a good page turner and the best part is turning the pages!

I think it will come down to environmental reasons but this is a number of years off.

I hope ebooks don't replace paperbacks. I think they both have a place.

I support both paper books and e-books. My fear is that eventually we will get rid of the paper books forever and only rely on the e-readers. I love having a book in my hand but when I do travel, it is much easier to purchase things directly from my device and no carry 500 page books with me!

I think both have their own purposes and should both be used depending on the situation.

Unlike music and movies, ebooks will have a much harder time taking the place of hard copies of books. There will always be that sense of "bookness" in a hard copy, the sense that neither movies nor music seem to have had an equivalant for, and while ebook reading has reinvigorated how people read on the go, etc., still hard copies will exist, by and large I feel.
The joys of literature transcend the evils of the world. I believe in its miraculious baptism and emotional power of the words trickling down the page. To me, there is no higher artform...

Although ebooks are very convenient and are becoming more popular, I don't think they will ever replace real books.

I believe that e-books are great as well as the bound books. I read with both because I like the efficiency of having all the books I could want in one place, however I am also an avid marker and not taker and there is nothing that does it as well as working in a book for that.

I love them both and would see a place for both in the future. I am sure they will be getting better with the e-books to allow writing and making notes. However it is still nice to feel the pages as you turn them and read.

Love my Kindle to bits but it will never replace paper - it does not smell right!
