Re: Ebook or paper book?

I think there are pros and cons to ebooks and actual books. For one thing, an eReader is so much more convenient for people who are always on the go. But then there's nothing like actually holding a book in your hands while you read. The experience of finding books to read are so different too. In my opinion, finding books online is so impersonal as to going to a traditional bookstore. These are only a couple of examples, and they are my opinions, but everyone's different. either way is fine so long as you remember to read!

I absolutely love my Kindle. The convenience is hard to beat, and I love being able to switch from one book to another so easily. However, I could never give up reading paperbacks. There's nothing like having a full bookshelf (or two :D ) at home.

Personally I would much rather have an actual book in my hands then a ebook. On another hand though I have a iPhone 5 and have kindle and Ibooks on it. There are many features of having the books online that I love as well. For one thing I can always start a new book once I am done the one I am reading no matter where I am. Also a lot of these online books have a free section. So books you can download without having to pay anything and this is extremely nice for me since I am a single parent in university. I do find that sometimes reading on my phone or iPad can cause my eyes to get really tired and sometimes cause a bit of a headache. I believe there is validation for both types, Ebooks are very convent and do not take up a lot of space while traveling but allows you to bring multiply books. While paperback novels have a certain relaxing quality and if your computer or phone ever crashes you will not loss any of your paperbacks. :D As well who doesn't want to have full book shelves and their own library one day

As a Literature student, we are obliged to read books of all kinds. Our professors often asks us to read books or watch movies and review it. Since books play a huge part of being inclined into Literature, the trend between e-books and a paper book is never new to us.

I believe that both types of books have their own advantages. For instance, paper books are more expensive. Our professors often asks us to read ancient books (I'm just exaggerating) that are too old and hard to find. Some of these books are already in the internet which makes it more convenient. Another advantage of e-books is that it doesn't take so much space unlike paper books. On the other hand, having your own copy of different books and having a small library of your own helps you to be more "in love" with reading. Paper books is also better since it doesn't need any electricity to make it run. You could also build your mini library or book collections of your own. As for me, I prefer to have both types of books so that I can adapt on how technology evolves but have my own collection that I could pass on to my children.

I was always a strict paper book girl umtil I was given an ereader for Christmas. And while i agree that there is nothong better than curling up with a god book on a cold day, I think there is some merit to the ereaders. I got hooked based off of the convenience of it- it opened up a whol new selection than what I was able to get in hard copy form, I could just click a button to buy it (faor warning- this can be very dangerous), I could easily read it in bed when my bofriend was sleeping becaise o the backlighting, and it fit in my bag better than regular books. Also, for someone who is short of space, it saved a lot of boolshelf space. I think I will always love regular books better, but I dont think I'd ever give up my ereader either.

I I was reluctant to get an ereader because I thought there was no way I could ever like them better than an actual book. I was kind of wrong. I mean, there is nothing better than having a real book in my hand, smelling the crisp new pages, getting ready to flip to that next page to see what can possibly happen next, closing the book with that smile on my face when the story was just what I was hoping.....however, my tablet and now iPad have opened up a whole new world for me, I can get so very many free books, whether its from the library or the reading app i use, as much as I read, I couldn't have found a better way to satisfy my literary cravings.

I think that both are great and I personally alternate between my Kindle fire and physical books. When I am reading something I know I will keep forever, or something by my favorite author, I usually purchase the book and keep it. When I see a book that I know I probably won't keep, I'll just read it on my kindle fire because they are cheaper. I also like reading e-books because you can change the font and colors. Also it is easier to read in bed at night :)

If I could afford to both money and space-wise, paper books all the way. As I can't, eBooks rock for convenience and price.

I prefer paper books than eBooks. With paperbacks especially, you get the feel of the solid, firm spine, the turning of each crisp page, and, of course, the smell of a book. The smell ever reader loves. With and eBook, you don't get any of that.

I am torn right down the centre with that question.

I love real books: the feel, smell of new book, seeing it lined up pretty on my shelf. Plus I don't have to charge them to use them.

I love my ereader: I can carry hundreds of books with me at a time in much less space, t firsts easily in my pocket or purse, if I fall asleep while reading I won't loose my page by dropping it, it just goes to sleep.I can set it on a surface and not have to hold it open.

I have boxes and shelves full of real books that try to take over my house, I also have a basic ereader for epubs and a kindle for amazon's book selection (especially the free ones).

From October Amazon will allow people to replace the paper books they ... used the Kindle to established an iron grip on the ebook market.

I love an old fashioned paperback book. The feel & the smell of the pages can't be replaced. But then again I sometimes use the kindle on my phone. I'm thinking of getting a kindle, nook, or ipad. Suggestions are welcomed..
