Ok, reluctantreader I would suggest that you do an internet search for Amazon Kindle Forums and then in the forum look for the thread "Freebie BOOKS- Links Only - No Self Promotion " most often found on the first page in the forum. It daily lists the links for the free Kindle books sites and the posters will list some of their daily book picks. You are sure to find some good books to read.Don't think I would enjoy reading a book on my PC though.I read sitting in my recliner,so I expect you will want to get an eReader or a tablet like the Galaxy Tab to read on soon. :)

I've got the kindle app on my laptop, reluctant reader. I got it so I could trial out whether I liked it without spending any money either. I'm quite enjoying it but then as a an avid fanfic reader, I am used to reading on my laptop. I just put it on my lap and lay out with it. I've actually just started a book that I saw advertised on facebook. It's called "The Faith" and it's all about polygamy and this religion where marriages are made up of lots of men and women. It's a completely different type of romance fic if you're looking for something a bit different?
I've also found that sometimes you're favourite author has written short stories and you can buy them on Kindle only. Lynn Flewelling wrote a little book "glimpses" which was little short stories about her characters and Tanya Huff sometimes writes short stories for anthologies so you can find some good finds if you look.

Initially I was against the whole e-reader thing, a part of the reading experience for me was the book, after using an e-reader, though I must admit it has its benefits, travelling for one. I always finish my book early on and don't want to bulk up my luggage by carrying or buying more, it's also great for reading in the dark or dim light!

I think they should make cheap and light ebook readers.

I also have an iPad Mini and I'm finding it more versatile than an e-reader.

It's the same size as a paperback, and very slim, and it has all the capabilities of a laptop computer. Also I can download e-books free from my public library. I can get free audio-book downloads and Freegal Sony music from
the library, too.

Having a device to read library e-books makes me feel more relaxed about reading; no money spent and if I don't
like it, one click and it's gone!

I will always love paper books, they are so comforting. But my Kindle is awesome for travel, and overall I think it makes buying lots of books cheaper, and I suppose saves shelf space too. There are so many indie books that are only available on ereader too, I'm glad I got mine :D

I live my e reader. I started with a Nook now moved on to an iPad mini. I love the easy of being to download library books at home, is so convenient from traveling and vacations, I always have my favorite books with me.

I have dithered myself. I did order an early edition of the new indigo/chapters ereader with a backlite, and did not like the way it treated some things - like pdfs. I hear Kindle is better, and I admire the SONY. I do think they are attractive additions, it is just a matter of matching the ereader specs to the person.

I am planning to get one, just because of storage issues. My current living arrangements don't allow me to buy books, as I can't store them safely. :(

I've had a Nook for a while now. I've downloaded a handful of free books on it. I've only actually read one book on it though, The Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I keep meaning to use it more, but I really just appreciate the feel of a book in my hand. I love going to the library or bookstore and piling up on books. :/

You won't regret it, they are just so convenient with regards storage & easy access to all your books. Have you considered spending a bit more & getting a tablet (iPad, mini or kindle fire) instead of a e book reader - then you can use it for so many more things? I love my IPad, it is one of the best investments I have ever made :D

There is nothing better than the feeling of a paper back book but e-reader have many pros and cons.
Pros - Lightweight, More books less space
Cons - Expense(after you've bought the e-reader you ten need to pay for books)
I myself have a e-reader but I mostly read paperbacks.
